Should I include both? Edited February 19, 2012 by tomasz86
Parseus Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 By the way, Mim0, why does 'SmartCard_XP_x86.exe' have to be renamed to 'WindowsXP-KB952013-x86-XXX.exe'? Is there any particular reason for this?IIRC, renaming this update allows HFSLIP for some reason to slipstream it from HF folder instead of HFSVCPACK_SW1.
tomasz86 Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 IIRC, renaming this update allows HFSLIP for some reason to slipstream it from HF folder instead of HFSVCPACK_SW1.Are you sure it's necessary? HFSLIP will slipstream any update even if you name it abcd.exe unless its structure is non-standard.

Somebody should test that.
Mim0 Posted February 19, 2012 Author Posted February 19, 2012 I've got IE8-WindowsXP-KB2647516... in HF. Should I include both? both? do you mean HF\WindowsXP-KB2647516-x86-KOR.exe and HF\IE8-WindowsXP-KB2647516-x86-KOR.exe? Yes, you should!
ZEUS__ Posted February 19, 2012 Posted February 19, 2012 hi,@mim0 I've included Q282784_WXP_SP1_x86_ENU.exe in HF folder. it's qfecheck.exe. but file checker says it's unknown. could you add this to list?

Mim0 Posted February 20, 2012 Author Posted February 20, 2012 ...Thank you but if both non IE8 and IE8 versions are needed then why is it:? Your example is taken from table 2 (security updates). But if you're using IE8 (together with IE8-WindowsXP-KB2647516-x86-XXX.exe), then WindowsXP-KB2647516-x86-XXX.exe is not a security-update but more a fix for the favorites-bug.But if you go to Table 4 (non-sec updates for IE), you will find WindowsXP-KB2647516-x86-XXX.exe for IE8.Probably it's not the most intuitive solution...
