justgreat Posted June 18, 2010 Posted June 18, 2010 Thanks for tip on how to install KB982168. I never knew there was a program called IExpress. Once I figured out the install command and named the file correctly, everything worked flawlessly.Would you mind explaining what install command you used for those of us still in the dark? Thanks!

Guest Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 New updates today. NDP30SP2-KB982524-x86.exe contains NDP20SP2-KB976576.msp and NDP30SP2-KB977354.msp. If you're like me and just use .NET 2.0 you can download NDP20SP2-KB976576-x86.exe from here.
krose Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 (edited) I used the same IExpress method for KB982524 that I used for the prior updates as discussed previously. KB976576 and KB977354 were processed, no errors, and WU was happy once again. I have attached a pdf tutorial of the IExpress process I used to make the installers. I hope this helps everyone.IExpress tutorial.pdf Edited July 5, 2010 by krose

erlisperlis Posted July 1, 2010 Posted July 1, 2010 (edited) I am trying to create an up-to-date merged .NET Framework-installer for the Norwegian language, however, some hotfixes are missing. My current installer installs this (fetched from Add/Remove Programs):Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 Service Pack 2 Language Pack - NORMicrosoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Service Pack 2 Language Pack - NORMicrosoft .NET Framework 3.5 Language Pack SP1 - norMicrosoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1And right away Windows Update asks for the following updates:KB976576KB982168KB974417KB979909After installing these updates, it asks for a reboot. Escorpiom Posted July 3, 2010 Posted July 3, 2010 (edited) Erlisperlis,From your procesdata file I can see some updates are not being processed...There is at least one thing I can help you with:NDP30SP2-KB982524-x86.exe <---- Did you download it and put this directly in your workfolder? You should first make the silent installer as Krose instructed in his PDF Tut. It includes decompressing the .MSP files and re-compress them as individual silent installers.Your procesdata does not show these individual updates, neither your work folder contains them.I have just made the .Net all-in-one with the tips from Krose and everything got processed. It all comes down to reading a bit, once you got it it's fairly easy.Strel if you are out there, thanks for this wonderful tool!CheersEscorpiom. I would add that you do not need NetFx20SP2_x86.exe andNetFx20SP2_x86no.exe when you have dotnetfx35.exe and dotnetfx35langpack_x86no.exe.It's one or the other but not both.M2GD

Escorpiom Posted July 31, 2010 Posted July 31, 2010 Hello Wush,I've checked my file size, it is only 4.85MB.Guess yours is OK, just test it.In your .ini you have only the last one (3.5SP1) selected. You could select all .Net 3.5 components to have the complete package. It will be a lot bigger. Cheers.
