Sp0iLedBrAt Posted June 10, 2010 Posted June 10, 2010 (edited) You guys won't believe this: I actually had to disable Antivir 10 Free yesterday, because during my test of creating an add-on with the latest .NET 2.0SP2 it reported this:Virus or unwanted program 'TR/Crypt.ULPM.Gen [trojan]' detected in file 'D:\nLite\dnetfx\TMP\TMP2\SVCPACK\XPDNF20SP2.exeso I had to redo it.Edit: it just occurred to me that it may have something to do with the UPX compression that SNM uses. krose Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 (edited) Here's what I did for KB982168 (this is with Windows XP). Extract the package and you will find three msp files, KB976765, KB976769, and KB980773. Use the IExpress wizard (start > run > iexpress > OK) to create an installer from each msp file. Place the installers in the folder with the rest of the dotnet files and run the compiler. I received no errors and WU is happy! Edited June 14, 2010 by krose
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted June 14, 2010 Posted June 14, 2010 I already posted about this here krose, I will try your solution
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 (edited) @krose:OK, I tried your solution, and the three packages, although present in the folder, were not processed, which I could see in the Command Prompt window while the process was on-going. I would like to ask you which settings for iexpress you used. I used Extract only and Preserve long file names, giving the repackaged files the same names as the .msp files. This is my log file.PROCESSDATA.TXT Edited June 15, 2010 by Sp0iLedBrAt
krose Posted June 15, 2010 Posted June 15, 2010 @ SpOiLedBrAt:You must use "extract files and run an installation command". Here is a screenshot of the compiler running, the packages were processed.
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 (edited) @kroseI tested with the suggested changes and it didn't work again. Is there any way you could take a few images of the process and post them here or upload the files somewhere and PM me so I can grab them? This is not the first time I've used IExpress, so I'm a bit confused. Thanks in advanceEdit: I just realized, by looking at the screenshot I posted, that the names of my files did not contain the "-x86" section, so it's possible the installer did not recognize them. I'll try that as well. Edited June 16, 2010 by Sp0iLedBrAt
My2GirlsDad Posted June 16, 2010 Posted June 16, 2010 Krose,Thanks for tip on how to install KB982168. I never knew there was a program called IExpress. Once I figured out the install command and named the file correctly, everything worked flawlessly.Edit: I just realized, by looking at the screenshot I posted, that the names of my files did not contain the "-x86" section, so it's possible the installer did not recognize them. I'll try that as well.Sp0iLedBrAt,Yep! You do have to include the "-x86" in your file name. The first time I tried I didn't include it and it was passed over. When I correctly included it everything installed fine.M2GD
krose Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 M2GD,Glad to hear it worked for you. I have learned so much from these forums, it is nice to finally contribute something.Sp0iLedBrAt, I hope you got it working too.Ken
Sp0iLedBrAt Posted June 17, 2010 Posted June 17, 2010 (edited) Sp0iLedBrAt, I hope you got it working too. Yes, I did get it to work. The updates appeared to integrate; I uninstalled everything and installed the new package, but didn't want to rush it until I went to Windows Update. Here are the results: Edited June 17, 2010 by Sp0iLedBrAt
