Has anyone mentioned FastStone Image Viewer yet? The latest version 4.9 with KernelEx works great on Windows 98. I don't know if it actually requires KernelEx, but the program is a fantastic replacement for Windows Image Viewer that comes by default in Me, XP onwards. Windows 98 and Windows 2000 by default don't have image viewer programs and I find this one to be fantastic and if set up properly, kicks the default windows image viewer programs in the butt. Plus it gives you the option to set an image to wallpaper in the program itself, which works much better than using IE or Paint since it has a 'cover' option which is present in Vista onwards.

Audio and Video Player,

LAST (for Win9x) - Free - Tiny Player 2.8 - http://petr.lastovicka.sweb.cz/others.html#player

Requires directx 9 installed

MP3, WMA, WAV, AVI work natively, but opening some other formats requires codecs to be installed.

These are the Win9x OGG codecs that work with Tiny Player, according to the author whom I emailed. It also adds OGG support/playback to Windows Media Player 9.

ONGD-FREE Vuze bit-torrent h ttp://www.vuze.com/ . A nice modern bit-torrent client that ran with no issues on my windows Me computer. Did not have to use kex compatibility options, though I do have this dll in my system userenv.dll http://www.msfn.org/board/topic/138911-userenvdll-003-for-windows-9x/ that could of allowed it to run, though I'm not sure.

EDIT: Of course it came with malware (like most Bit-torrents) so I would not recommend downloading it unless you have good virus scanning/protection to remove the free malware that comes with it. It also could be the packaged software that they try to make you download so be cautious with download (or any bit-torrent) if you are going to still download it.

If you still want to download copy and past link into browser. Remove space.

EDIT2: seems to be safe since only 2/50 report Malware with the first saying possible https://www.virustotal.com/en/file/13e34c41001bba1b7c95294ba7817f69eaa8bf4d90bbf61fb353a7916cf05cb6/analysis/
