July 12, 20224 yr Hi, Is it possible to boot Windows 2000 on UEFI? I know it is possible to boot Windows XP and Whistler Beta 1 on UEFI, but wanted to know if it was possible to boot 2000 on UEFI. One person was able to boot Whistler Beta 1 on UEFI, but struggled with 2296. I tried this on Windows 2000, and followed the same steps shown in NTDEV'S XP UEFI video. When I try to boot it with the Vista 5219 files, I get the 0xc000000f error. What would need to be done to get 2000 running on UEFI? If it isn’t possible, why? Edited December 11, 20223 yr by GD 2W10

June 12, 20251 yr Are you using the vanilla VGA.sys + VGA.dll as graphics driver or something from Windows XP?

June 12, 20251 yr The blue screen you got means in many situations that the graphics driver was not able to list any display mode. You could try my universal graphics driver for Windows 2000. But the chances are no way close to 100% that this will fix the problem. It might be a problem with videoprt.sys or no access to the VGA configuration registers. June 13, 20251 yr If it doesn't work either, then I can add some checks to narrow down the problem. Btw: You got surprisingly far in the booting process. Once the graphic issue is solved, you will most likely see the graphical user interface of Windows 2000. Edited June 13, 20251 yr by Start Me Up
