Yes. If the owner is registered. Around $100.00 Depends on if it is available. Some of the models come with a customized system restore CD. You might want to ask about it because it is better in the long run. I make system restore CDs for my customers at $100.00 per CD.

When I get hold of a old hard drive I always low level format and then rebuild it because you do not know what was on the drive and why it is not in use. The hd is 500 plus MB and comes from the CIH era. I would rebuild it in your test system - not in any of your good systems. I have lost a few PCs in the past and learned the hard way.

Didn't Seagate manufacture Quantum hard drive models? I do not know if Seagate manufactured for Quantum. But I would not be at all surprised. http://www.quantum.com/AM/about/contact/ha...ive_support.htm Hard Drives Previously Sold by Quantum are Now Supported by Maxtor Effective April 2, 2001, Quantum Corporation's hard disk drive division completed its merger with Maxtor Corporation. All Quantum hard disk drive product support and services have been transferred to Maxtor. I am looking at TZ now. No problems. Runs fast.
-
I have experienced no errors at all with MSFN or Techzonez. Everything loads fast on my end. I have even connected to TZ when other people in other threads said they could not.
-
Quantum is the manufacturer of the hard drive. Maxtor now provides support for your hard drive. Click Here and download MaxBlast Plus II.
-
Yes. Instead of just formatting the drive do a complete low level format. Use the manufacture's utility disk.

Man, what in the world is going on? I sincerely hope it is just glitches.

It works as long as you have a market. Take zipp51 for example. The colleges in his area are one form of a market. My latest market is PC upgrades. Countless examples abound and if you are flexiable it works. Read through all the posts for information about how to get started.

DoveBid is having some awesome auctions this month (Jan) that would be of interest to reseller groups. AMD, Apple, and HP are mixing it up. Small time guys like me used to leave messages that we would take any of the odd PCs if a agent wanted to unload their odds and ends. I will be exploring this avenue this weekend. FactoryDirectDeals has some good deals right now. Norton SystemWorks Professional Edition 2003 for USD $29.99. This offer is available through my member account. So you would have to become a reseller with JDR Media or one of their affiliates. I don't think this offer is available to the public. This would be a nice software package to include with my PCs. Considering the price and it is retail ... not OEM. Got my new price list from MALabs and forwarded it appropriately as promised. Anyone else that needs it let me know.

A Web site built by Microsoft engineers using the Microsoft .NET Framework, Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server, Internet Information Services 5.0, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000 successfully withstood over 82,500 attempted attacks to emerge from the eWeek OpenHack 4 competition unscathed. This article explains how the solution was built and configured and provides best practices for software developers and systems administrators to secure their own solutions. (20 printed pages). I am hungry for a new game. Is there a game similar to StarCraft? An aerial view, strategy game, playable on the inet is what I am looking for. Same caliber as StarCraft. NOT WarCraft III.

I would but I don't want to embarrass you all. You all would be like toy putty in my hands. Mold you all any way I want. Send you all home to mama crying I would. w00t

Prosecutors in Moscow have decided that Harry Potter books don't incite religious hatred. An investigation was launched after claims the books "contained signs of religious extremism". There were also claims they were "drawing students into religious groups of a Satanic type". Svetlana Petrenko, a spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office, said they had found no basis for opening a criminal case. Russia's ITAR-Tass news agency says the original complaint was filed by the International Fund for Slavic Literature and Culture. The Harry Potter books are hugely popular in Russia and have inspired a very similar version with a hero named Tanya Grotter, causing Potter's publishers to threaten to sue for plagiarism. Ananova

Interesting. I can see where this might come in handy. Maybe if I wanted to write an encoded document at work this could come in handy.

Yes, very slow to open pages and login. After logging in and going to the forum I noticed there was not a log out link. Said I was still logged in. Not knocking it or flaming it. Just my observations.

LS has a very good point. Well said and if more people realized his point there would be less people bad mouthing Windows. "Oh my God, I ran a 3rd party application and it crashed Windows. Windows sux." DUH! "Oh my God, I downloaded warez from an unknown source and it crashed Windows. Windows sux." DUH! "Oh my God, I am running a game coded for FAT 32 on my NTFS system and it crashed Windows. Windows sux." DUH! "Oh my God, I paid $150.00 for WinXP Pro and my video card is incompatiable with it and it crashed Windows. Windows sux." ... Did you read the back of the box where it details the minimal requirements? Yea. Did you download the Windows Hardware Compatibility Wizard and run it before you paid $150.00 for XP? No. DUH! Myself, I have experienced very few BSOD with all Windows Operating Systems. Win95 did have its moments I will admit. But XP is so stable it is unbelieveable. The only time I had a BSOD with XP was because of a bad stick of RAM. It was not XP that caused the BSOD. Its was hardware. Now you say XP is too demanding on hardware. You have to have the latest hardware to run XP. No, this is far from the truth. The truth is someone snagged a copy of XP and are running it on something close to the quality of a Packard HELL built in the Pentium Pro era and they are trying to ... get thepicture. Oh, and nice link FiLeR.
