  1. Your contribution has undoubtebly helped us all at some time, all the best my friend & hope to see you round here when you can. It good to see our friend twig 123 is considering running with your creation a very worthwhile project at that.
  2. @Jamieo Thats a nice explanation, & your right the MS info on this is clear as mud. So more testing it is.
  3. No worries glad to see you solved that problem.
  4. Very much so a problem with most antivir apps from where I read, no real solution yet though.
  5. Thanks prathapml Noticed you toggled on many features there.Excellent example . One question though in PNP drivers you have the following: <DriverPaths> <PathAndCredentials wcm:keyValue="cd7c395" wcm:action="add"> <Path>%SystemRoot%\PnPdrvrs</Path> </PathAndCredentials> </DriverPaths> I read the help files re the driver paths & noticed above in your key value of "cd7c395" normally 1,2 or 3? what is the relevance of the key value to the location of the driver path? Is there an example of running the driver path directly from the DVD, like we use to?
  6. Gday guys my redundant Pentium 4 since retirement, handed to the children approx five months ago is now continually BSODing. reformatted a few times now but after a coupla uses BSOD's again comes up with a ATI error can't remember exactly though? Thinking maybe the Vid card could be the problem?....or maybe worse??...Mobo?? Gotta tell ya guys this is by no means a sh**t machine has 1.5Gig ram, 256mb Vid cards 2x 250 gig HD 8mb cache. Must say the children luv to install games & use em. I'm reserved with this & have my concerns, never had a drama with this box ever before & would be no more than fours old referring to Mobo & CPU. Your advice guys always greatly appreciated, don't wanna spend too much on this but would like to sort it, great back up machine.
  7. Thanks now thats something to begin with.
  8. Can't really help here but would you mind lettin me know briefly how you extracted each singley with ImageX?
  9. Thanks Nuhi for those insights may be a new problem I'm experiencing here.
  10. Upon further testing, I find using Vlite to slim down the source ensures you only install the selected flavour of Vista without the annoying screen popup during ua? More testing to be done.
  11. Generally Anydvd runs in the background of both those progs.
  12. Look forward to it. Testing my current vers Home atm & appears to unattended no probs. I found a few things so far that its far more reliable using the waik to alter the image & answer file + validate. Opposed to just editing the ans file directly with notepad etc. Don't know for sure but with my testing found a min amount of info is required for the unattend to work flawless. Also do not put too many unneccessary fields in there or windows will take too long to parse. Will post my xml when fully tested.
  13. Gotta luv Autoit.
  14. Yes quite a bit to get the noggin round. Lookin at the waik, unattended help files literally miles of info there. Makes XP setupmanager equiv of Kindergarten stuff. Xml's not that difficult to use though.
  15. Can anyone advise of the relevance of the file location relating to: <cpi:offlineImage cpi:source="wim:c:/vista/sources/install.wim#Windows Vista ULTIMATE" As the .xml can be made anywhere using the waik? The fellows above I referenced is in the root of his Vista dir C:. I made mine on the desktop? whats the difference in respect of the autounattend.xml file?
  16. Thanks FireGeier that was it,just needed to dig a little deeper. Getting more comfortable with the waik each day.
  17. That would be awsome, with full functionality.
  18. Thats fantastic but has been already posted? Q1 is can you install & include the registration & activation info as the last vers. 7.08??
  19. Obviously not a big deal in your case then.
  20. Now to be clear the Autounattend.xml file which normally resided in the Sources Dir. needs now to be placed in the root of the bootable dvd? Just tried when in Sources Dir. not reading the file & not unattending.
  21. Yes thats working great just popped the oscdimg.exe into sytsem32 in xp Made image 100% Boots straight up from the dvd. Just having trouble Vista recognising the the ans file, retracing all steps now.
  22. Thats fine but doesn't go into depth regarding timezones, to do with codes etc as the win xp setup manager did. I'm from Au & does not go into specifics?
  23. Integrated same pack with Ryans integrator with no probs with Synctoy?
