  1. Its obvious that this is warez obtained! MSFN does not encourage it, and further warez-related posts will invite closure of the thread.
  2. Yeah, nor can famer's AIO maker give back your CABbing. So don't hope for too much! I've described in a previous post of mine, about the idea of how to RAR o2k3 all 5 CDs and still keep the needed functionality. Please search.
  3. Awwww crap - guess what? The $Docs folder (in $OEM$ hierarchy, after update to SP2) seems to be processed only by XP Pro. I posted here so that others will know this too. Had me in fits for a long time as to why it wasn't working! is this actually true or is something wrong at my end. If you use XP home, can you please try this yourself, as well and confirm it for the sake of being sure?
  4. Hey, the prev INF by you worked fine, when I removed the quotes. Once I get home, I'll test the second one with that 132 stuff.
  5. 1. Ppl can dl the game from steam, only if they have purchased it. 2. Is HL going to have Punkbuster, or some othe anti cheat software which willnot enable those with fake/ duplicate keys to play? I think their intention is to get you to play! (not prevent) 3. No need for such - all they ever need is your IP address. Guess how RIAA served notices on heavy KaZaA users ?
  6. Energy Blue For your other questions, there's LOTS of pages related to that. Please SEARCH!
  7. I guess not. That won't help for what he's trying to do anyway. What's more, that tool is not perfectly legal. And he hasn't got the AIO legally either (tell me..... just *WHERE* does MS sell legitimately licensed AIO CDs? lol and then xbetas is most certainly not a legit site) So its best not to take the AIO issue further.
  8. Okay, now the below is for opera: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet\Opera.exe] @="Opera" "LocalizedString"="Opera" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet\Opera.exe\DefaultIcon] @="C:\\Program Files\\Opera75\\opera.exe,0" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Clients\StartMenuInternet\Opera.exe\shell\open\command] @="C:\\Program Files\\Opera75\\opera.exe" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths\Opera.exe] @="C:\\Program Files\\Opera75\\Opera.exe" "Path"="C:\\Program Files\\Opera75"Calling the .REG to INF gurus. Thanks in advance.
  9. Solved it with MCT! It looks like having quotes in the path to the INF caused the problem. So now ya know it.
  10. Great news! Too bad though, that I don't care for hotmail and use gmail for most purposes.
  11. more likely, its too small a site operation - done with IP instead, so that they can keep changing site-name. But still, that does not justify it. That (the re-direction to IP) makes it look unprofessional and suspicious, as you said.
  12. In fact, I haven't yet started on this. But if you've already done it, would be a *HUGE* time-saver if you posted exact step-by-step method of how to do it (or for the benefit of others, to even have the actual file itself downloadable). If you need hosting space for the auto-install boot-sector, I can host it. I guess we can host the boot-sector, and then have instructions about: 1. The folder structure to be followed. 2. How to actually do the whole thing for your own image.
  13. @nois3 looks like what I need! I have the original gdisk.exe and gdisk32.exe (taken from the install of my ghost 8.0). That will work, me thinks? @GM Thanks for telling my fave sentence right back to me! Ha ha, its amazing how people have the same enquiries within days of each other.
  14. If it does not work in the way said above, do this: 1. Run the setup.exe (remember: setup.exe, *NOT* the MSI) with "/A" switch to make an admin-install point. 2. Put this admin-install point onto your CD (delete the previous folder from which you ran the /A), and run the setup.exe with "/QB" switch. Hoping this helps....
  15. Well, installshield has a standard method mentioned in the msfn guide. I don't know if the newer versions that create MSI installers have changed, but this is what I do for most IS-based installers: 1. Check that C:\Windows does not have any file by name setup.iss 2. Confirm that quicken 2005 (or NAME_OF_APP_HERE) is not already installed. 3. Run the setup.exe with "-R" switch. CMD window: D:\temp\quicken_path\setup.exe -R4. Complete the setup, as you do normally (keep in mind that you should *NOT* agree for a restart, otherwise it will restart the PC after installing itself during the Windows setup - and that's not at all nice). 5. Now copy C:\Windows\setup.iss to your folder where the setup.exe is (i.e., if D:\temp\quicken_path\setup.exe is present, then D:\temp\quicken_path\setup.iss too right there). If there is already a setup.iss present there, then rename that to something else. 6. Now use the "-s" switch for silent install, it will pick-up parameters from the setup.iss in its own directory. %systemdrive%\quicken_path\setup.exe -s 7. That's all. If you want to make things complicated, then you can even have the response file named as something else, and use the "-f2" switch. D:\temp\quicken_path\setup.exe -s-f1"D:\temp\quicken_path\quicken.iss"But its better to not do it.
  16. Hmmm..... will it run in DOS ? It would normally run only in WinPE or recovery console (and normal windows mode) ?
  17. Good! Things should get simpler as you move forward, not complicate themselves. And this is as simple as it gets. You don't need all that "Data". But if you've customized your Mozilla (or firefox or thunderbird) a lot, and insist on keeping old files, this is what you can do: Put "C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Mozilla\" on your unattend CD in this folder structure: "$OEM$\$Docs\Default User\Application Data\Mozilla\" "$OEM$\$Docs\Default User\Application Data\firefox\" "$OEM$\$Docs\Default User\Application Data\W-H-A-T-E-V-E-R" (I guess it is self-explanatory - the files will get DIRECTLY copied over, and into the default-user profile, so that *ALL* users that you create will have the customized settings of firefox/tb/whatever.) You can follow same method for other apps that store their config in that path, as well. Hoping this helps....
  18. Is there any tool that can do scriptable DOS-based partitioning ? Its needed for win9x installs, so that the boot-sector will directly load-in the .BAT, and then the partitioning should create/initialise the partition, so that setup happens smoothly. On a different plane, is there anyway to automate norton ghost? I have ghost 8.0, running in DOS-mode, and need it to automatically execute specified image-restores. Lastly, is there a command or an EXE to reboot in DOS? (to be able to reboot unattended)
  19. Hmm....... I already said that it is uncompressed install source now. Nothing can be done to make it compressed again, unless you're Bill Gates. The most you *CAN* do, is to use winrar to compress it. Plenty of size information you have given, and everything seems to be proper. Office 2003 + SP1 slip-streamed, in an AIO, does touch near 900 MB. So I guess you just need to put it on a DVD.
  20. If nlite.inf is a set of registry keys, then yes.But its better to have it separate. A good thumb-rule to follow here:If you don't understand what something is, then its not for you. And if you keep staring at something long enough, eventually you begin to understand it. Just for better understanding of this topic, here's a link to a similar topic - this one is also for the same purpose - How-to for maxthon config In other words, I want to just extract the installed mozilla/maxthon and then apply this INF. And be done with it, instead of bothering myself to death over complex installation methods. And I daresay that objective has now been achieved! And hey, does anyone have any idea about what's up with this? Executing this at the command-line: rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 128 "%ProgramFiles%\any\any.inf"That returns an error box saying "Installation failed". I'm sure the INF is proper, and that it used to work previously. Only now, suddenly it is acting up like this - could XPSP2 have something to with this? (different entry-points, etc.?)
  21. UPDATE: There was a slight updation to the INF in the first-post.
  22. Don't bother with switches, and such for mozilla install. What I do is to install firefox and thunderbird, within C:\program files\Mozilla, then clean up that by deleting the \uninstaller and any other useless files/logs. Have it copied to the unattended install with folder structure directly ($OEM$\$Progs\Mozilla\). and then apply the .REG found here. That's far simpler, and it does the same function as the installer. Only difference is you won't be able to uninstall firefox/thunderbird, but then who needs an uninstaller when directly deleting the folder does the job. INF please!

  24. registry keys required for mozilla Firefox 1.0 and ThunderBird 0.9 Here they are. If someone can reduce the size of this text (its too big), and then make an INF of it, it'd greatly improve usability. The reason I propose an INF is that then we can use system variables like %ProgramFiles% (or is it %10%), which is not possible with this .REG method. All we'd need to do, is make an SFX archive which will extract itself to "%ProgramFiles%\Mozilla\" and then apply the INF. 25. Dude, really was a bit late to say hi, don't you think? I must've "hi"ed you many times over, lol Anyways, you're welcome! Come to think of it, I'm thinking of saying "Hi" to introduce myself in the forum - coz I haven't done that yet.
