  1. Don't you enter a space before $OEM$? Sorry for this question, but there is no stupid question When there is a such problem, all questions are allowed
  2. Very strange! Is $OEM$ at the root of your CD? (i.e. at the same level of I386)
  3. The $OEM$ folder is NOT created in the new partition, only "Program Files" & "Windows".
  4. With WinXP, instead of `DATE /T`, you could also use '%DATE%'. (1) Beware backquotes and single quotes! (2) Check the format given by DATE/T to see which is the format: mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yyyy)
  5. DVD Shrink is no more updated : it is replaced by Nero Recode (same author).
  6. KB890175 : HF1 KB890830 : in the RunOnceReg (called in cmdlines.txt): REG ADD %KEY%\050 /VE /D "Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool (KB890830)" /f REG ADD %KEY%\050 /V 1 /D "%SystemDrive%\Install\HotFixes\Windows-KB890830-FRA.exe /Q" /f
  7. There is NO spywares in MsgPlus (except if you accept them during its installation)
  8. To analyze the log, there is also http://www.hijackthis.de/ (multi-language)

  10. Very good and usefull thread What about adding the MapDrive tool to automaticaly assign drive letters?
  11. @WebWilli: Thanks a lot : I hope others will give their own language string Note: In the first post of this thread, I upload a new version.
  12. @Durex: Thanx a lot @WebWilli: Please read the first post (or download the batch file and read the comments)
  13. I updated MAPDRIVE.CMD with a new version: see the first post of this thread. News: - Correction of something (now, reassignment in nearly 100% working). - Many DVD & CD could be used instead of only one ot both. - Drives keeping the same letter, are not de/re-assigned. - Variables renaming to be more clear. - Better logfile (with error messages from DISKPART). - When launched with a parameter, only the log file is created, no de/re-assignement are done (this is for test purpose). Note: - The SLEEP.EXE is available in the Windows Server 2003 Resource Kit Tools. - The corresponding translation of the search string could be found in files "xxx-xxx-csv-WindowsXP.csv" from the Microsoft FTP site. Happy New Year
  14. Hi Durex, That's just what mapdrive is doing, but automaticaly If you have some minutes to do it: yes, so I will be able to improve my little mapdrive
  15. Ok, Thanks: now I know that DISKPART could not make a distinction between a CD reader and a CD burner; so I have to find another way (reading registry: can be done but not easy to work on retrieved data). Stay on the line: I am going to work on it
  16. I tried a lot of way to do this, and I always come back to the current solution. Net version will give the possibility to re-assign multiple CD and/or DVD. But I need more informations about what is returned by DISKPART; so could you run DISKPART and give the output of the command LIST VOL (especially what is displayed for your CD-R, CD-RW, DVD,...)? What I would like to have is someting like: Volume ### Ltr Nom Fs Type Taille Statut Info ---------- --- ------- ------ ---------- ---------- --------- -------- Volume 0 E DVD-ROM 0 B (Comment: CD-RW burner, DVD reader) Volume 1 M XPCREATE CDFS DVD-ROM 859 MB (comment: DVD-RW burner) With your answer to my above question, I think I will be able to modify mapdrive so you will be able to set the letters as you want it Note that mapdrive is based only on the DISKPART results (but DISKPART does not see any differences between a DVD-R burner and a DVD-RW burner . I hope it will report different types for CD Reader and CD burner )
  17. I put it in RunOneEx without any problem... but I never access my CD because all of my installation files are copied on my HD at the Window installation beginning (i.e. everything is is $OEM$\$1\Install\). Perhaps, you should reboot after the drive letters changed... ps: As I have not enough place on a CD, I am using DVD
  18. A new version is ready, and I will begin a new thread as soon as I will release it in a few days (watch new threads ). News: - Correction of something (now, reassignment in nearly 100% working). - May DVD & CD could be used instead of only one ot both. - Drives keeping the same letter, are not de/re-assigned. - Variables renaming to be more clear. - Better logfile (with error messages from DISKPART). 19. I got the following error message while running Greenachine's WMC.CMD: My SED version is GNU sed version 3.02.80 And I'm using IExpress Wizard 2.0 EDIT 14-Dec-2004: I found why: there are missing quotes in WMC.CMD Lines 79 & 89 should have been written as: FOR /F "USEBACKQ DELIMS==" %%J IN (`DIR /B "%XDIR%\*.*"`) DO (instead of FOR /F "USEBACKQ DELIMS==" %%J IN (`DIR /B %XDIR%\*.*`) DO (
  20. Go thru http://greenmachine.msfnhosting.com/XPCREATE/ EDIT: @mmarable :Hmmm
