  1. that command just disables it...if u want to remove it..its net user aspnet /delete
  2. is this an operating system error? for example does the windows boot screen appear and then once the gui loads the error comes up?
  3. personally, i like it more than frontpage...but still prefer dreamweaver any day.
  4. check the dependencies tab..also after u start the service stay in the services mmc and refresh every few seconds for about a minute to make sure it doesnt stop right away.
  5. How can I get my site posted on some of the more popular search engines, preferably google, yahoo, altavista..etc...
  6. awesome, thanks, and for the record, i had this working when the server was first setup.
  7. I did not, well, i've tried it but my drives don't show up in the pull down menu so..maybe I'm doing somethinr wrong there? yes, I haven't had any other issues, time synch is fine..etc...
  8. Windows Server 2003 R2 x86 WDS Mixed Mode I'm capturing using a custom CMD based WinPE 2.0 from WAIK, using the imagex /capture command, then moving to network share and adding to WDS server.
  9. i'm sorry this shouldn't be in this forum. I could've sworn I had it in the NT4 forum, could mods please move it?
  10. I've been having an issue with my WDS server lately, I didn't have this issue before but now when I create an image of a windows xp box, I actualy boot up into a custom winpe with command line, map a drive to my server, and run imagex /capture /compress fast c:\ y:(network drive and path) "description and title" that works fine, so the image is now on the server, once I add the image to WDS in a group it's there and everything appears fine, once i load the windows install winpe from the original vista dvd, and pxe boot with it from wds it loads fine, i click next. logon with THE domain administrator, the image from the correct workstation appears in a list, i click it, click next.wait about 10 seconds and I get an error message "Windows could not display the images available for installation" This really sucks because I need these images there and for them to work correctly, the wim images are correct size(about 4 gig) and like i said this used to work fine, this is my first time using winpe 2.0 to create them, i used to use the windows server 2003 opk with imagex to create them but I wanted to create a fully pxe bootable solution, the only other difference i can think of is i have no vista installation images on the server, just the boot images...anyone have any idea? any help would be appreciated, thanks.
  11. I've got a client whose mac puked, the monitor anyway and because of apple's rediculous engineering job I can't get any video. The system itself I believe is running properly, if there is no way for me to get the system into a working target mode is there a way i can remove the hard drive, put it in another box and mount the file system either using a win32 app or a live linux disc? I believe this unit was the predecessor to the new mac mini, its not that small, but its cube shaped inside of a clear plastic "stand" case, all the cables plug in on the bottom, it has 2 firewire, 2 usb, 1 dvi, 1 vga, modem, ethernet if that helps. any suggestions appreciated, thanks. Heres a link to what the cube actually is..not sure of the exact specs for this specific unit tho...: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Mac_G4_Cube
  12. I'm installing my 320 gig SATA drives right now(2 of them) and im putting them in a software mirrored raid, im not sure if I should put the swap file in the mirror or have it in its own non-mirrored partition. it will be a 2 gig swap file, or should i have 2 1 gig swap files non mirrored on each drive? any suggestions? i have 1 gig of physical ram currently.
  13. alright..hmm...cuz i have a batch file i'd like to have in there as well.. on top of mapping other drives and such. thanks, i'll take a closer look and let you know.
  14. Hey, I am not sure how to go about doing this, but I have 2 servers, one of which runs all the time, the other only when I need it. I want to map an extra 2 drives ONLY if the server is running, if the server is not running with the standard net use command it takes a few minutes for the login script to finish with an error, is there a way to do the following if "ping 172.16.10.2" replies then net use * \\vms\ISOs else go to end if "ping 172.16.10.2" replies then net use * \\vms\vms else go to end. basically if the ping replies then map the drive, if it times out then end. is there any way to do this? thanks in advance.
  15. Has anyone tried it yet? I put it in a VM last night and i was surprised at how fast it was..I'm looking very forward to playing with this a lot in the very near future. Does anyone have any docs that explain the various different Active Directory components/roles that are listed in there? the description provided doesn't give a whole lot.
  16. I'm going to guess that's probably it, I will give it a try when I get home tonight. Thanks for your time.
  17. and yes both the x64 boot image AND the x64 install image are added on the wds server. both are from the same business disc as well.
  18. both are non-modified boot and install wims from the original vista x64 business edition. Didn't get a chance to check this last night will do it tonight.
  19. I'm running Windows Active Directory at home and I usually login with my User account which is part of the administrators group and the domain admins group. When I log onto the server I use the actual administrator account which i have renamed
