1. I'm afraid not... As I said in a previous post, Realtek has switched their driver installation method (at least for their sound drivers): they use an InstallShield setup now. So when you extract the Driver package now, you get a setup.exe, data1.cab, data2.cab etc. This way I can't access the files I need: *.inf, *.sys, etc.
2. To be honest I'm starting to understand less and less of what you're posting here. Why don't you just start all over, following EACH step with great precision? All what you have to do is in there, nothing more should be done. Several people have confirmed this to work, so I don't see why it wouldn't work for you...
3. How did you extract the driver files out of the installer package??? Until someone tells me how to do this, I won't be able to update DriverPack Sound!
4. @Jeff, what version did you use? I assume version 3.65? It seems they have radically changed the structure of their drivers, because now they're using a InstallShield Setup to install their drivers, which means I can't access the real driver files. Does anyone know how to get all files out of it? I can't get this done @Lucius Snow: Realtek released a High-Definition codec a while ago, and the drivers for that controller are inside the HD folder
5. Thanks. But for someone else updating the Realtek drivers didn't help :s
6. quote from my previous post: If you're using method 2, you should have a OEM folder next to your I386 folder (without the "$" signs!). Please check if there's a presetup.cmd in your I386 folder and if your txtsetup.sif file contains presetup.cmd. If not, that's the reason why the DriverPacks don't get decompressed for you!
7. Haven't had the time to test yet... Very busy this week I'll post my results!
8. I think it's the SiS 180/181.
9. Why would you have to remove the 3114 controlles? Isn't removing the SiI3112 SataLink enough?
10. I'm quite sure it won't take a month
11. No problem, in fact it was my fault, so...! P.S.: Update_V006.cmd is already available
12. Hmm... Special version you got there, a combo of XP and 2003?
13. I have 4 invites. PM me!
14. ROFL thanks for the clarification, Nois3!
15. Err...????? Could you please clarify what this sentence means?
16. like that explanation And I agree! Pc crashed once a week or so, after a year once in a couple of days
17. You can do this with a batch file that asks for Y/N. If Yes it installs the app, if No it exits, which means (when using RunOnceEX) that it proceeds to the next item! However that looks *very* inprofessional, but you might don't care about that....
18. Well, I've done it quite differently I'm convinced it should work with subfolders, which will help to make it easier in maintenance!
[Disks] d1 = "Adaptec Serial ATA HostRAID Driver Ver 1.00 For Windows 2000/XP", \ADAPTEC\ADAPTEC, ADAPTEC\ADAPTEC\controller_subfolder
Going to test it now
19. I'm working on a totally renewed DriverPack MassStorage, if you want you can betatest for me, because the Adaptec 1200a RAID controller is already supported Please contact me through e-mail in case you'd like to test it, you can find my e-mail address in my Profile
20. Why 4 instead of 3? And do I need the Textmode-folder? Looking up the documentation for '4 instead of 3', but I thought it was something of this kind: if set to 4, Windows setup sees it as a RAID driver, if set to 3 then... Just do it, it's correct About the textmode folder: that depends on what method you're using (see the sticky in the Device Drivers forum)
21. I've thought of this myself too, but there's a big but: the point of an unattended installation CD is to reinstall Windows easily, right? Well, *I* would also use it when Windows is getting slower AND when I'm installing new hardware... It takes only half an hour, so what's the bother? Just my 2 cents...
22. Sure, but the problem might be that it won't install on a SiI3112 SataLink controller (a non-raid one)
23. I'm working on a huge update... Please do it manually for the moment, unless you can wait some time.
24. Which motherboard do you have? Or is it an add-on card?
25. Why don't you use CDimage to create the image? OK, it rebuilds the ISO every time, but who cares, it only takes about one minute...
