  1. How about a Task Manager Gadget...Ive seen manny Run Command Gadgets that can Run Programs but how about one that can both Run and Kill them (also Log off and the other cool stuff taskmgr does) So Vista doesn't come with its own taskmanager and you have to make one yourself? Right-click taskbar -> Task Manager
  2. Probably someone set your DNS servers to censored ones in SA.

  4. Some sites will ignore the X-Fowarded-For header and just show the IP of the machine that's connecting, whether it's a proxy or not. Go ahead and connect an HTTP proxy if you want, but it'll probably be too slow for normal use. I think X-Fowarded-For should be all you need for regular use.
  5. Carrying around a separate drive external to the laptop isn't really convenient for most users.
  6. Read the Proxomitron manual. Look at header filters section.
  7. Look for iPod hard drives. They're also the 1.8" type. Toshiba has an 80GB model, the MK8007GAH: http://www.toshiba-europe.com/storage/pci....amp;ptype=HDD18 There is also supposedly a 100GB one, the MK1011GAH, but I haven't been able to find much information on it. I've also heard that it's cheaper to buy an iPod and take the drive out, than to buy the drive itself. Edit: Netman66 beat me to it
  8. 1. Partition with Free FDISK 2. Format with WinME format (look for it somewhere in this thread along with WinME FDISK) 3. Install Enable48BitLBA ESDI_506.PDR
  9. LFN and FAT32 support is available if running on top of MS-DOS 7.1 with DOS LFN support.Google "PMWIN3" for an unofficial livefloppy image of MS-DOS 7.1 with (Chinese) Windows 3.2 and the abovementioned additional features. Creator is Wengier Wu.
  10. 4807 works fine, don't fix it if it ain't broken. (I did the 64k files test with it, so I'm quite confident it works)
  11. Either you have too many startup items being loaded, or are infected with malware. Google 'msconfig' and see the malware prevention forum for more information.
  12. Not unless you want to run a server, i suppose...
  13. Yes. 2TB 5.25" full-height server drives (SCSI). They're rare and expensive (several thousand USD each). If you mean 3.5" desktop SATA/IDE drives, Seagate currently has a 750GB model.
  14. You can use Proxomitron to do that.
  15. Even OpenDNS blocks sites it considers 'malicious' -.- Use these 4.* DNS servers: 4.2.2.1 4.2.2.2 4.2.2.3 4.2.2.4

You have not posted the required information. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/555375
  17. Because only cracked versions can be made portable, due to said activation requirements.Hmm... if you bought it from Adobe and then cracked it?

    DeCSS and ffdshow, lol
  19. It'd sure take a long time to format though... but I don't doubt it can handle it with at most a bit of BIOS modding. Fact: All processors since the '386 could address up to 4GB of physical RAM.
  20. The same points and counter-points are starting to repeat in this thread. In fact, it's turning into a "I'M BETTER THAN YOU" thread, and rather shameful of the 9x community, since we don't see any "Why continue to use Windows XP" threads in the XP forum even though there's Vista out there. 9x has its place, and we don't need to endlessly discuss it. Let's close this useless thread.
  21. Probably 2TB, using Enable48BitLBA. How much storage do you need anyway?
  22. Umm... server features? Care to explain?
  23. As an aside, the 3.2GHz Celeron can probably be overclocked to 3.6 with stock cooling
  24. Only in certain situations; since NTFS is more complex it has a larger 'critical window' - where interrupted writes can corrupt the entire filesystem. What if that interrupted write happened somewhere in the journal file? On FATxx the amount of read/write activity done is far less than on NTFS, and the critical window is small.
