Actually I did that because I was getting sick of the '3D' look and wanted it flat and simple. Look under HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Colors They are all strings, rrr ggg bbb, Red Green Blue in that order. Sample : http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/6941/samplejh0.png

You need to add the appropriate INF files.

Does right-clicking and selecting "Save Target As..." work?

You mean make a copy of the Vista ISO? Yes, I think that's obviously against the EULA...

Even the government of China does not have that much resources and power to fake something like this. I have friends who were there, and it happened in the way you'd expect - a plane crashes into the building, the building collapses later due to damage. Nothing more and nothing less. Conspirators always like to take insignificant 'details' and attempt to argue their points with them. You can, in fact, make substantial amounts of 'evidence' in an attempt to 'prove' something that you know is wrong, like saying the Earth is flat.

Lol, that wasn't me... There is already some 'parallelism' being handled in hardware, for example see the following instruction sequence that loads some registers with numbers: mov eax, 12345678 mov ebx, 31415927 mov ecx, 27182845On all modern processors the above sequence can be executed in a single clock, as all three instructions are independent. I'm not sure of the maximum number of instructions that can be parallelised in this fashion for any specific processor but if I remember correctly it was approximately 4.

EXECryptor software protection
LLXX replied to Jean5's topic in Programming (C++, Delphi, VB/VBS, CMD/batch, etc.)
Strange coincidence that this topic got revived... because I just unpacked an EXEcryptor-packed prog not one day ago! It's a rather interesting feeling to have read all these claims of 'no concept of code decryption', 'impossible to crack', etc. then actually do it and find out they're really bluffing - it works just like a normal unpack-and-run packer. ...and BTW, even the latest version of PEiD doesn't identify EXEcryptor -
All of them have that capability now, and most NICs also do.

Here's an interesting one: http://www.asrock.com/product/ConRoe865PE.htm

Realtek ALC658. Quite good for integrated audio.

The mass ratio of 2.16 compares well to the mass ratio for aluminium and steel, 2.9. (Probably the aluminium one has slightly higher volume of aluminium for better strength) Aluminium is more expensive because it's lighter and resists corrosion. However it is weaker. Both are not likely to be factors in deciding between metals for a PC case. Steel is stronger and cheaper.

By the way, that picture of the alledged power supply is not the whole thing. From http://www.silentpcreview.com/article601-page1.html you can see that it's actually composed of a laptop-style switchmode PSU and a small adapter with some voltage regulators on it. Even so, those voltage regulators on the ATX connector do not look like they can handle anywhere near 60 watts. I'd consider 10 watts to be optimistic, and 5 watts seems to be more realistic judging by the size of the components. My advice would be to keep as much airflow as you can around it.

You can get standalone RF tuners with composite-out at some electronics stores. I have one from 1976(!) that's still working - I use it for electronics/radio work. Of course the newer ones are digital instead of analog, but there are still advantages to analog tuners such as being able to continuously 'tune' the frequency...

Photoshop, I'm still using version 7. CS is bloated and rumored to contain spyware. Tried PaintShopPro, didn't like it too much.

New menu program for application installs on xp cds
LLXX replied to #rootworm's topic in Software Hangout
It would've been easier to be dependency-free by not using .NET but rather the standard C runtimes that are included in every version of Windows. What you've written could've very easily been a simple, tiny, standalone executable. -
The burner should come with Nero, and if it's a Lightscribe burner then its Nero should also support it. Do note that you also need Lightscribe media as well.

You have to format and partition virtual drives just like real ones...
-
If you want to be a slave of the industry then go ahead... but note:- Open-source means you can locate and fix problems, and resubmit it to improve the software for everyone. - There is support, and it's also free. - New versions are released more frequently and bugs are fixed faster as well.

98 (FE), 98 SP1, 98 SE + ME SHELL32.DLL fix
LLXX replied to MDGx's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
Have you actually tried making a directory with several thousand files in it, and deleting/copying all of them? (Hint: i386 of XP CD, or extracted contents of all 98SE CAB files ) Currently using: BROWSELC.DLL and BROWSEUI.DLL 5.50.4807.2300, no problems. Tested up to 16,384 files (used a splitter to split a 16Kb file into 1-byte files). -
http://img152.imageshack.us/img152/8116/taskbaryz6.png That's what mine looked like after a little registry editing (explained in separate thread).

Nothing happened. And nothing ever will. If you don't already do so, you should disable scripting for all sites, as most don't require scripting anyway and it's mainly used to generate ad banners/popups/track IPs and in general mess with your machine.

Enable48BitLBA | Break the 137Gb barrier!
LLXX replied to LLXX's topic in Windows 9x Member Projects
True, they have copyright, but the question is not whether they have copyright or not, but whether they're going to enforce that. -
Run setup /? and you'll find the answer to your last question. I know virtualisation programs cause a *lot* of disk activity, especially during an installation, so maybe your hard drive is starting to fail from it...
