Am about to get this. Please let me know your views on it (especially those who already own it!!).

Set both pc's in the same workgroup (say workgroup) and subnet mask (255.255.255.0) then assign the ip addresses (ie: 192.168.0.1 to one pc and 192.168.0.2 to the other one). After you've done that and rebooted both pc's, create the shares (right click on the folder / drive you want to share and chose "Sharing"). Good luck and if you need more info, come back.

@war4peace cluberti didn't ask you to create the memory.dmp file in vain. Archive it and come back with the location where you uploaded it so he can have a look at it. He's the man who can tell you EXACTLY why your pc behaves like that from reading the .dmp file.
