you need to call the msi with msiexec.exe !!! when u just click an msi file in windows the default action is set to install with calling the msiexec.exe file. you need to put that into your batch ppl copy the msixec.exe into their install folder... I also suggest Alcohol %120 I know daemon is freeware but I like alcohols gui and since I know where that systemworks 2004 german came from u can get alcohol from there as well, just to make the point clearer I purchased alcohol, I often use it.

that's what I was wondering since my connection is bad i never runned du. out of those 82.4mb most probably are there bc of the languages. can we apply these two updates manually? or do we have to go to updateing process?? I won't be able to install xp if I run du with my connection:))

thanks to both of you I am used the other sounds of xp I just can't stand the logon logoff startup shutdown so I'll go with the reg tweak since I haven't got my hands on the hive*.inf files. I don't want to mess the whole xp setup by messing the hives

hey the latest dynamic update 1.3 is already included in the SP1 package unless MS is doing some other updates not included in releases I don't think the du will do anything.

some of the hoxfixes have that file also rollup 1 has update.exe basically its for updating lol

hey its not as bad as u think its very easy just copies two files into nero if you only want nero to change copy nero***.nls copy nero***.txt into :\program files\ahead\nero and when u open up nero goto preferences and choose your language thats it! and add this to your registry just for nero Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Ahead\Nero - Burning Rom\General] "Language"="ESP,ENG" esp = spain I don't know what language u're trying to install but u live somehere in spain u might not even need to go to preferences if you import this reg first try it.

do you know where the files are placed? are they dll's, are they being registered? if not for example I copy my plugins with copy command if you know where and how it puts the file you could just create a setup for your self and install silently with installshield devstudio 9 might be longer but i'll get back to you as soon as I download one of those language packs bare with me for a while

don't have any idea where ppl find such interesting anti-virus programs is it any good?( they don't have any info on their website about silent setup) for the msi files if you have time edit them with either software: Installshield Dev studio 9 Wise package studio Pro etc.

when I use this XCOPY "SR1\SP2\" "XPCD\i386\" /H /S /Q /Y /E it says invalid path! I used a very simple batch to see if I'm wrong but no xcopy "sr1\sp2" copies all the files in sp2 folder? I had problems with greenmachine's scripts I guess my dos prompt sucks!

@GreenMachine okay the batch file is great but I've a question, I've tried it but I've doubts about it I couldn't be sure so here it is in which directory should I be placing the rollup? in the Service Packs or type 1? because I'm afraid if I put in on type 1 they will be overwritten? actually same goes for service packs folder So where shall I put it and should I be running it as the last update instead of running it first?? Thanks I wish Microsoft released their SP2 asap before I go completely crazy! and that sp2 better be a good sp2 with all whatever's neccerssay hot fixes, recommended installs, driver updates!!! grrr....
