  1. have you tried unistalling it? I also dled the mac os 2 when I uninstalled it my system got messed up. Explorer.exe was not found some dll were not registered. I spent 30min getting my files back and registering them! I could use the recovery console but I thought it might take longer and yes there are bunch of files in the directory experience-xp mentioned

  3. I don't understand why it should copy more data but anyways it slowed so i've stopped thinking about this method and now I'm wondering how did you manage to make it 25 min?

  7. some tweaking programs easily do it actually you can set which programs they can run which might be easier i don't know about and scripts i'm sure more knowledged ppl on the forum do know some some tweaking programs tweak-ui tweak-xp tweak manager and here is a direct link from ms for win2000 I'm sure its the same with xp or somewhat similar http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323525
  8. also internet explorer temp files, temp files, system restore files get your hdd very fragmented so what I do is I decreased the ie temp files to 10mb and ie temps gets deleted when I close the browser and I've made a batch file which deletes the temp files at every boot/ login also recycle bin's space reserved tends to be slack space so you could decrease it. best you could do is classic themes and set the settings to performance instead of visual tweaking registry won't help too much but disabling services and startup program will help a lot also some programs like .net have way over too many files integrated in the registry you might want to install less programs and defrag your hdd often also defrag your registry and search for unneccesary and invalid entries
  9. i've two network adapters 1 is disabled the other one has static ip dhcp is disabled as well I'm using autologin i've p 4 2.0GHz 512 Mb ram unfortunatelly 40 gb 5400 rpm hdd but I've 120Gb 7200 rpm external hdd only If I could boot windows from it I want 15000 rpm lol my boot time is 168 sec  i need to get my cd up and running and format it asap
  10. yes u can put it on the CD make sure its says winnt.sif you place the batch files and hotfixes in .\$OEM$\$1\batches and hotfixes there are numerous numbers of explanations on this site I didn't bookmark them so just go ahead and use the beautiful search function or maybe some admin will help redirecting you
