  1. WinHEC 2004 Show Report and Photo Gallery Very interesting pictures.
  2. I would have to agree with Justice, Dreamweaver rules. It does require some manual notepad tweaking sometimes, especially with tables. Now I just need to learn how to use Divs...
  3. lol @ Hydencity A whole page of bashing the LH Transformation pack, and then out of nowhere you post a link to it.
  4. Wow. Looks like the U_S truck got in an accident. A big accident, with 15 cars and nuclear bombs and jet planes. Oh, and welcome to the forums!
  5. One possible solution is to split it into a multipart rar archive. Looks like you'll need it in 5 parts, so cut it into 4.4 gig chunks and burn the files to their own DVD. It's time consuming, but it's the only way I can think of for now.
  6. Open up your httpd.conf file (in Apache directory) and search for the word "DirectoryIndex". You should see "index.html" and maybe others... simply add index.php to the list. No commas or anything, make it look like this: DirectoryIndex index.php index.htmlThat should do it!
  7. SO THAT'S IT!!! I noticed it too, couldn't tell what it was.
  8. @HyDeNCiTy I would still suggest trying out Linux though. If you don't want to install it, try a live cd such as Knoppix, which has a lesser likelihood of messing up your computer. @RaveRod You hit all the main points I was going to touch on, but didn't feel like typing
  9. I'm not sure, but if you had XP on C: then restored it to D:, then you just messed things up. I think Ghost partitions are supposed to be put back in the same sized partition. If you did everything correctly, then try booting off of a Windows XP CD and entering the recovery console. Type "bootcfg /rebuild" and it will hopefully detect the correct settings to allow you to load Windows XP. Also try "bootfix D:" to try to repair the booting of the partition. Good luck.
  10. Wow, that's one of the problems I had before my format... good find, if it indeed does work!
  11. Talk about bringing up almost every Linux cliché in one post. Truth is, if you have problems with Windows, you're going to have even worse problems with Linux. It's been said before and I'll say it again, if you know what you're doing, Windows won't give you (m)any problems.
  12. I suggest trying to short out components using a screwdriver. That way there's no physical evidence of tampering. Or, if he wants a whole new setup, try connecting stripped wires from the power supply directly to the processor and other places on the board and see what happens.
  13. If you by any chance have an nVidia card, then follow the guide here: Windows Server 2003 Remote Desktop Logout Fix Hope that helps!
  14. Nice site, I like the logo on the front page. The forums need customization
  15. Ah, ok. I just saw the word school and assumed you meant the school computers There's a bunch on StyleXP, search for either Plex or Slate or Aero.
  16. Welcome to MSFN! You won't get in trouble for helping us out with VB, we have a Programming forum!
  17. If you're doing it at school, just be on the safe side and use a theme instead. No system files will get changed and it pretty much looks the same. Transformation packs are good for XP -> OS X, but I don't think that much has changed between XP and Longhorn to warrant a system-files change. If you want a Longhorn theme, check out ThemeXP.org
  18. We're those kind of people that just don't want programs adding their shortcuts all over the place. Third-party shortcuts should not be hard-wired into the shell. Oh, and on a side note, I have this exact same problem, except mine says "Analog Display" not Digital. There's a key in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NVTweak that says "NoMenus", maybe mess around with that?
  19. It looks like this method will work best, click here to view the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article. (It's under MORE INFORMATION) Disregard above. Try this page instead. Make sure you're doing it from an account OTHER than the one you normally log on to, either by making a temp account or booting from a WindowsPE cd.
  20. It seems like the uninstall left some registry keys behind that said it was installed... Try either running any registry cleaner to remove invalid keys (be careful though) or manually search the registry and try to find a key (relating to the printer) that says "Installed = 1" or something similar. Alternatively, with some installers, you can open them with WinRAR and extract their contents. If you see an ini file, open it up, and if you see something like "InstalledCheck = 1" change it to "= 0". I know that trick has worked for me before.
  21. Hello Jerry Fong! Welcome to MSFN, I hope you enjoy your stay
  22. I like the look of the site! Did you make the skin yourself? I know some friends that like Warcraft, I'll recommend your site to them.
  23. Thanks for the info AaronXP, if I would have known that I might have kept SP2
