  10. Nope, that is NOT true, you nead a licence for the exeading windows version. that means you are even alowed to run windows 95 if you only have a windows xp home licence (instead of //// not alongside) user model look somthink like this. if you have windows xp (home edition) you may also use, windows ME, all versions of 98, 95 and preseding versions like win v3.11 if you have windows xp (pro edition) you may use xp home, but also windows 2000 pro, and windows NT 3.0 3,5 and 4.0 (workstation version) if you have MCE you may juse also xp home (not pro). But again only instead of, not along side ..... This means whoever has WinXP & Win98SE licence are welcome to use my Win95/WinME files I don't want to break any laws thats why i'm asking.
  11. Iwish for the same thing. So i started resource hacking my own icons.I got as many as i can changed to XP. I figure like this some people have a updated system some don't. I think some of these packs might require updates that one may not have on his/her computer I think some one should just resource hack the shell32.dll and all the cpl/icons files nothing more nothing less. and maybe it would work on everybody computer.I sure we all have these default and basic files. .
  12. What do i change it to
  13. Any 1 know how to accomplish tasks like this one or similars with Resource Hacker i tryed the method but its intended for WinXP http://weblogs.asp.net/cumpsd/pages/194736.aspx

  16. This is great i been waiting for something like this a long time now maybe somebody can create a script to make the installation smaller only installing important files/drivers without that intergration stuff.
  17. I just learned of this tip http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=532844
  18. This pack includes a shell32.dll file that should be the solution. You are exactly right i just figure it out I had the Kernel Update Project installed and it patched my shell32.dll and i saved that patched shell32.dll because i had resource hacked the icons so when i do a clean install i don't have to keep changing them. That means my patched shell32.dll have added APIs that means in the future when service packs are made take this thought into consideration. Sorry bout that MDGx didn't mean to send you on a wild goose chase but i didn't know of this myself We learn something new everyday.
  19. Win98SE/ME gets more live by the minute.I don't visit many forums but i did asked everybody I know that owns a computer to write M$ about Win98 support. 70+ Millions of users should be a good enough reason Win98SE forever
