They both have the same exact files and version numbers so what is the PROBLEM?

They both has 6.0.3790.0 but the new one don't install and the old one do.

Most of those apps listed don't even support 16-bit PEs I'm tired of downloading all these apps and they don't work. So what they are free they can't get the job done. The best one i found was exescope but i still can't change it. Any solutions.

Why 98SE2ME don't support MaxFileCache=524288 i read the manual and it says MaxFileCache=393216 or am i mistaken.

What about a full Service Pack with all Official/Unofficial updates included + performance tweaks. This Pack should include but optional but with ALL the latest files If possible maybe these updates can be stripped down to important essentials ONLY IE 6 Direct X 9c Dotnetfx 1 & 2 Mdac 2.8 Wmi Wmp everything else is a go all Official/Unofficial + performance tweaks. NO 3RD PARTY APPS all its gonna do is increase the size. besides people will prefer the apps they wanna use. This will be nice for people that don't have a internet connection but can maybe burn it to a CDR to keep they system in top shape. It should go like this install Win98SE then the Service Pack. Thats it you should get a message displaying your system is up to date. WinXP SP2 was huge so their should no complaints cuz this shouldn't be neraly as big. BOTTOM LINE

These are the only 3rd party apps i used on my Win98SE machine Adaptec 4.71.2.0 Crapcleaner-latest version Dosbox 0.65-latest version Extended Character Map Quicktime Alternative-latest version Real Alternative-latest version Shockwave/Flash-latest version Also i took the liberty and installed every single Win98SE update MDGx has @ his site. And my machince fly. The less !@#+ you have on there the better, especially the !@#+ you don't need

I tryed your method and it still give me the error.Its another file thats doing it also- mstsc.chm from Remote desktop.Its a bug in Mdac 2.8. because they only occur after i install Mdac 2.8 + all updates. same results with official/unofficial patches. it might be other files also that display this message.

Now i just need help on selecting a motherboard/cpu/graphics card don't really need a sound card.I will get mushkin/crucial memory.512mb These are my options between the 2 memories.
