Someone else also pointed out that my explorer.exe wasn't based on 5.0.3900.6920, the newest one from MS. I'll be reissuing the patch based on that one soon. Thanks you are awesome

Do you think you can patch Explorer.exe 5.0.3900.6930 from a reliable source? http://www.mdgx.com/w2ktoy.htm#2K0 Thank you so much for your hard work.

Your workgroup for Win98 and WinXP has to have the same Workgroup name, then you turn on file and print sharing on Win98SE.

How do I create a CD Boot Image (SOLVED)
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to PROBLEMCHYLD's topic in Windows 9x/ME
Thank you! I'm about to toss the Win98 FE in the garbage because I don't need it any more. I finally have a bootable 98SE disk. It is a full upgrade but with no booting options. Thanks again. -
How do I create a CD Boot Image (SOLVED)
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to PROBLEMCHYLD's topic in Windows 9x/ME
I don't have a bootable Win98SE CD. Its an upgrade and it gets annoying using my Win98FE just to upgrade to 98SE. -
I would like my Win98SE CD to have the boot options that are in Part 1 of the link below with the Boot from Hard Disk Boot from CD-ROM http://www.windowsreinstall.com/win98/install98cd/indexfullpage.htm most boot disk don't give you the first part of those options. Thank you.

HFSLIP, Windows 2000 and 'Service Pack 5' Hotfixes
PROBLEMCHYLD replied to bristols's topic in HFSLIP
I don't remember where it came from, I know it doesn't contain any viruses. I download so much stuff and back it up some stuff I have i don't even need. I can send it to you if you want. -
Well, this hotfix needs more care, it won't slipstream! I just checked it and it indeed provides Ntprint.dll ver 5.0.2195.6745, but still I can't find it into the new slipstreamed win2k install. Why? Has it to be copied into some other folder than HF\ ? I'm not sure. Have you tried putting it into HFSVCPACK_SW1\ ? It will override newer files will older one this way. Extract the Ntprint.dll 5.0.2195.6745 from the hotfix and replace it manually. I know this because i tried it with these 2 hotfixes as well WINDOWS2000-KB942831-X86-ENU.EXE has newer than any other infocomm.dll 5.0.2195.7147 WINDOWS2000-KB816868-X86-ENU.EXE has newer than any other wininet.dll 5.0.3900.6944

If this is how you run the command line for the 290700UP.INF and everything installs correctly, then yes your are right. I have never ran it like this because I don't know command switches that well. I always ran it manually. But thanks for shedding some light outr way as usual.
