  1. yes! yes! no problems with the batch? removed less with dism but was able to delete more with vlite! i think if you remove packages with dism, the files still remain in the winsxs folder??? ps doing another test now with client network drivers & clipsinthelibrary, disk diagnosis & a few others back in the batch file? do you mean that (- packages removes with) DISM plus (+ packages removes with) vLite turn out a small install.WIM image size ?
  2. Well. this new .bat is only for 64-bit, and have "only" 61 packages removal
  3. try this session with my batch file? I'll try tomorrow with Seven 7229 x86
  4. How many packages you remove now with DISM ? (your mini guide remove 72 packages)
  5. you mean to remove with dism without applying vlite after it?
  6. Jeronimo, in line 3 of file rempckgs.bat you have a "ECHO": echo %dism%:Microsoft-Hyper-V-Common-Drivers-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~%bits%~~6.1.%version%.0 is wrong?
  7. Well, your target is Windows 7 HOMEPREMIUM, mine is Windows 7 ULTIMATE. EDIT: After delete Hibernation file, My install size is 2.35 GB !!! But I have problems with printers (driver removed in ULTRA), I will try again with printer driver support
  8. Man your install size is < that mine !!!! Check this: 1) 7229 x86 ULTIMATE have 364 packages/features. 2) Original DISM remove guide from dead0 remove 72 packages (your txt remove 87 packages !!!!!!) 3) vLite "see" about 179 packages 364 (ALL) - 72 (Dead0 guide) - 179 (vLite package list) = 113 --> not visible/removible with vLite ?
  9. What is your install size man ? Mine is 2.91 GB with 512MB page File
  10. Liquid, removing printer support don't show options to eject Flash drives !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  11. underxp, you can safely remove all those things that its warning you about unless u use one of course but the LLTD you can leave it and set the service to disabled. Or you can remove it as well it will not hurt your networking connection at all. Many Thanks Liquid0624!!! I combine Dead0 mini DISM guide with your ULTRA profile for 7229 x86, Win7 Setup give many errors about tbs.dll, but the setup finish ok, with 512MB page file C:\ drive is using 3,5 GB !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Liquid0624, your ULTRA profile try to remove some components that are required for another components NOT selected for removal (i.e. your profile remove LLTD but vLite say that it is required for Network Center). Is this correct ?
  13. Dead0, after read your mini-guide how to use DISM with Seven 7229, I will try Windows server 2008 sp2 as Workstation later...
  14. when i ran the install wim tweak, it was showing 264 or so with 7201 & now, it shows 357? with 7229 I using your mini-guide right now. The correct value is 364 packages for 7229 x86. One question: Your batch file remove 72 packages befor vLite. Is possible to remove more packages with DISM ?
  15. One question, Server 2008 can play games normally (Devil My cry, Prince of Persia, Assasin) ? because some programs don't install when detect server plataform.
  16. Hi dead0, i use your guide (changing a bit the file features.xml), after install Server 2008 SP2 Std these package are left: I want to remove all using the file "packages.txt" , except Internet Printing Client and Wireless LAN Service. My question is: How can I get these features complete name ? Thanks
  17. Hi, i'm interest, but have questions: 1) Is obligatory add Bitlocker packages features? Or can I delete from "features.xml" ? 2) Is obligatory add netFX 3 package feature? Or can I delete from "features.xml"? 3) Can I remove BitLocker and netFX features with vLite ? 4) Can your guide be aplied to Server 2008 SP2 standard Spanish? Thanks for publishing your guide
  18. What ? the System.* files ? or the nLite Runtimes 3 ?
  19. To LegoLiam: 1) Install nLite Runtimes 3 to vLite Folder (10 files, 1 folder, 12 MB aprox.) 2) Copy the next files (from .NET 2 SP1) to vLite Folder (Don't copy into vLite\v2.0.50727 !!!!!!): System.dll, System.Drawing.dll, System.Windows.Forms.dll, System.XML.dll Total: 14 files+ 1 folder = 23 MB aprox. Tested in vLite 1.1.6 beta/RC/Final and previous version too NOTE: DON'T try if you have .net 2 already installed in your machine.
  20. MagicAndre, I wrote in Spanish because MythBuster don't speak english. And yes, I told that LegoLiam understood
  22. Nuhi, I'm using vLite 1.1.1 in XP SP2 with NLite Runtimes R3 without a glitch. Only I have to copy System.XML.dll to vLite folder. I don't install bloat .NET 1/2/3/3.5
  23. I did the reverse integration and its easy: If you have 2 hard disks, install Vista to the second one, enter audit mode, install SP1, run vsp1cln.exe, close audit mode, boot into the first hard disk, and capture with imagex the drive where vista was installed. You can change the boot order for the hard disks into the Bios. BTW, using virtualization for install Vista-install SP1-capture will be slower that install it in a second disk / second partition

    Hotfix Downloads

SP1 is only a couple of HotFixes in one installer, and take about 1 hour to install in a Vista RTM. If you have a new DVD with SP1 preintegrated, after install Vista WU will download only post-SP1 updates. Reverse integration is a method to create a pseudo-Vista DVD installer with SP1 already in it (installed but NOT slipstreamed)

    Hotfix Downloads

Try to get from Microsoft a new DVD with SP1 preintegrated, is the best option for a fresh-updated Vista. Or, try the reverse integrated metod.
