  1. Ok, wrong .ini file !!!!!!!! Attached the last .ini, applied to Vista Premium SP2, Windows cannot connect automatically to wireless protected router Last_Session.ini
  2. did you remove the network diagnostic package with dism? also did you keep wlan support? - Network diagnostic removed with vLite. - I keep wlan support. - Link-Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) was not removed. - Quality of Service (QoS) was not removed. - EAP was not removed. - NAP was not removed. - Network Explorer was not removed. Any ideas ?
  3. dead0, i dont remove EAP+protected storage and the problem persist!!! Any ideas? Ps, when I open the windows with wlans detected, the protected wlans dont show the lock!!!
  4. more than likely its EAP Thanks Dead0, I will try right now.....
  5. Hi, I have a problem with WLAN: Network and Sharing Center can not connect automatically to a Router protected with password (don't show the window asking for the protocol and password, only give a error), I must connect manually especifying the parameters. If the router is not protected, Windows connect correctly. I attached my preset, i think that problem is related to EAP or Protected Storage ? Win7.ini
  6. Dead0, I always remove Media Player and Media Codecs because I use KMPlayer. Removing WMP+Codecs gain about 100 MB
  7. Well, i have dual core processor e5200 that support 64-bit, but I don't change to 64 bit OS yet.
  8. I have 2 GB of memory, and always used a 32-bit SO. Actually I have Seven 7229 x86. With only 2 GB, do you recommend me install Windows Seven x64?
  9. I don't think that both are equal. Server OS are optimized distinct that Desktop OS
  10. Dead0, files from DriverStore folder are link to files within WinSxS, why you delete from DriverStore?
  11. Is a tedious work because one package/feature can have many folders into WinSxS. And if you delete by mistake one folder tied to a package not removed, then Seven Setup can fail. I don't delete folders within WinSxS, I nullify their contents. But Dead0 delete the entire folder.
  12. If install Ultimate: all folders that contains "starter", "premium", "profesional", "homebasic" , "enterprise" If you removed: - Media Center: all folder that contains "ehome" - PowerShell: all folder that contains "powershell" - Printer drivers: all folders that contains "prn" - Fax: all folders that contains "faxc" - Sound Schemes: all folders that contains "soundthemes" - Scanner driver: all folders that contains "wia" - Themes: all folders that contains "wallpaper" - ... ... ... ... Man, it's a tedious work !!!!!!
  13. Well, I thought that deleting the folders break Seven Setup! With this in mind, I'll add a new feature to Nullify: search folders with wildcards and add their names to a batch file. Then I can match yours [DISM batch file+vLite ini file] with a batch file that delete folders tied to removed packages Example (running Nullify in a cmd prompt from WinSxS): Nullify /s ehome games prn starter profesional premium wallpaper Will collect all folders names that contain these phrases in their name and add it to a batch file with "RD /S /Q" in front of each line Then, other users can reduce their install size very easy without remove folders manually into WinSxS What do you think ?
  14. Well, how do you manually remove it? Delete the entire folder or nullify the folder content? vLite remove drivers from WinSxS?
  15. Dead0, your last batch file remove only 49 packages!!! Did you tried removing Printer Drivers with vLite? It's a heavy package (about 500 MB) and DISM doesn't remove these drivers from WinSxS, you must remove it manually. Nullify can help, but are many printer driver folders !!!!!
  16. with that one, i removed netfx also a lot of drivers from system32\driverstore\filerepository & winsxs. deleted windows powershell from system32 but couldnt remove from winsxs as i kept getting install errors. also removed the opticalmediadisc files from winsxs, wallpapers, some leftover drivers & games I don't remove powershell package, but Nullify all folders relatives to powershell into WinSxS and Seven install OK, only event log viewer show some errors about powershell (Failed to compile: Microsoft.PowerShell.* )
  17. aviv00, for example I apply Nullify in the nexts folders (in mounted install.wim): Winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-shell-wallpaper-scenes_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7229.0_none_b9c0378f79ce0b9a winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-shell-wallpaper-nature_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7229.0_none_eb1791e5c4cd2a6c winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-s..lpaper-architecture_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7229.0_none_ef18032e7c2d982e winsxs\x86_microsoft-windows-ehome-* (these folders are tied to Windows Media Center and I removed it with DISM) and a LOT of other folders !!!!!!!!!!! It's very simple to reduce WinSxS size, install TreeSize Profesional and check the folders with the bigger size into WinSxS (relatives to packages previously removed with vLite/DISM), apply nullify within TreeSize Profesional
  18. if its 32bit then i shouldnt see why not? well i run it via right click on winsxs folder icon i get black windows open and closed very quickly and the bat file in doesnt create is its possable cos my windir is c:\win not windows ? edit: found the file in temp what should i see in the bat file ? Hi aviv00, I will try to answer yours questions: 1) Nullify was created for apply to WIM images mounted. NOT for your installed system, but could be work too. 2) I think that Nullify can be used in Server 2008 too, because is a simple program, don't use extrange techniques nor specific API (including X64 editions) 3) All files created by Nullify go to the %TEMP% folder. These files are NOT deleted after run it. 4) Nullify create a batch file with the contents from a folder, adding the command "type nul >" before each file name. 5) If the current user don't have sufficient privileges over the folder that you want to nullify, Nullify will create the batch file but will fail silently. I think that your specific problem was try to apply Nullify over installed Windows Server 2008. In this case, you must take ownership over the folders into WinSxS, because normal users can NOT modify their content. I hope that this information can help you
  19. Well, I can live without .NET in my machine the unique app that I use and need .net is vLite !!!! I never use event viewer.
  20. Man, you are a MONSTER!!!!!! 401 MB ? sure Seven don't install....
  21. It is not advisable to remove NetFX, because is heavily used by core components of Seven
  22. Could be DTC. I installed Seven in my personal computer for first time (always use it in VMWare), everything is OK, except that Portable apps created with Thinstall don't run (Thinstall is not compatible with Seven yet) and MUI spanish lang pack failed to install (I removed too packages manually ????)
  23. yes it is! just not worth the hassle for a few extra mbs! btw is your search working properly in the start menu when you click more details? Nop, show error "search:query=YOUR_FRASE class not registered" ???????
  24. Nullify Update 2 changes: 1) Now you can select multiple folders from Explorer/Treesize and apply Nullify. 2) Now Nullify create tmp bat files in your %TEMP% folder (Please, before use Nullify check this environment variable exists). TMP bat files created by Nullify are NOT deleted. You are warned. nullify_update2.rar
  25. Dead0, I reduced my installed footprint to 2.02 GB (including 512 mb pagefile without compression) !!!! But is a heavy work nullify all folder from removed packages I think that .NET 3 is aggressively embedded into Windows Seven funcionality and is not possible remove it without break Seven
