  1. Really? I thought the gizmo was locked up tight. Hadn't tought of trying to break into it...or is it not locked at all? I recall setting the network config when I first got it, but haven't touched it since then. I seem to remember having to do a trick to reset the device so that I could input manual subnetting info. Sounds like we are in the same boat with SR/ViaTalk!
  2. Sorry 'bout that! http://www.armedassault.com/ does look very cool. But it also looks quite similar to BF2, which I already have and enjoy. Do you know how they compare to each other? As soon as I get tired of BF2 I'll be trying out Civ 3 or 4
  3. That software is excellent! Thanks!
  4. Agreed, this engine is amazing. I've been tracking that site via RSS for a while now
  5. I play BF2, and can attest to their very PITA authentication. I'd say the best (legal) thing you can do is keep *everything* and call EA tech support for help. They might be able to get you running again.
  6. It will pop-up when you have a new PM.
  7. Since SunRocket is going out of business, I'm looking into a new VoIP provider. ViaTalk looks good, but I am also considering buying a VoIP device instead of getting the one that they offer. I really like the open firmware community built on the WRT-series Linksys routers. What is your favorite VoIP device that has a similar community or open nature?
  8. If memory serves, the A+ certification study materials and test would be sufficient. Also remember to hold the can upright at all times. Otherwise you could introduce propellant into the airstream.
  9. I'm just saying that not everyone knows as much about electronics as you do. Show that pic to your grandma and ask her to point to the capacitors...or at least point to "the potentially dangerous parts" and see how well she does People really do shock themselves or ruin their equipment all the time because they don't have the requisite knowledge to be in there monkeying around. I've seen people poking around in PSUs without unplugging them first!
  10. It is not advisable to open a PSU if you don't know much about electronics. Such things can be very dangerous. And not everyone can spot a capacitor on sight. MSFN is not responsible for any injury/death that may occur
  11. If you don't have .NET 2 loaded, you can use www.vixy.net instead. It transcodes instead of extracts.
  12. Is there an image hoster that you prefer? I'd venture to guess that some of the major ones have had custom submission tools created for them.
  13. Same here.
  14. I use this version of close to close windows by title, but it uses wildcards so it can close all windows. It closes them in the "nice" way. @Rischip: Welcome to MSFN You might be interested in these subforums.
  15. I haven't looked into this at all since I have no doubt that the card has a high interest rate and isn't worth it in the long run. Some people get such cards just for the one-time discount, but I think that also hurts your credit.
  16. I've heard that Rosetta Stone is the best. Good luck to you!
  17. Glad you got it to work! I've heard of the option you mentioned work for USB devices, and that was my guess as to your problem. People have had issues with Sleep for as long as it has been around. I wasn't talking about a corporate network. I was just throwing out ideas for things that could be causing your issue...these problems are hard to nail down sometimes.
  18. Please let us know how mozy works out for you
  19. Welcome back, ChiliFrei! We've missed you 'round here
  20. Fixed. Thanks!

    Bad Virus

This is an old hoax. Why are you posting about it? Just to continue the chain letter effect? That doesn't seem like something you would normally do, computerMan.
  22. What bus interface does your network adapter use? USB? Do these clients connect to a router or other managed device? If so, are you using any type authentication/security?
  23. They do that for many sites, but I'm not sure how/why. Perhaps use of a Google Sitemap?
