  1. First things first...remove the space character from your HFSLIP path. That may not be related to your problem but it is worth a shot
  2. From http://hfslip.org/support.html :
  3. This feature seems perfect for you, Oleg
  4. No, and I don't think it is currently being worked on.
  5. Didn't work with Opera, but seemed to work OK in Firefox. (My Opera isn't flash-friendly) I'd provide more feedback but I don't know much about such games. [ moved ]
  6. Thanks, gosh. I'll try this out the next time I do an install
  7. You're the first to report that kind of problem that I've seen. Think I'll still give it a try.
  8. I'd like this as well. My current, crappy solution is to have some bookmarks in my sig. I have been meaning to slap some Opera UserJS code together to generate custom links near the top of MSFN pages (to the left of "My Controls") but I'm just too busy to get it done these days.

    2 new sigs

Those are neat...did you make them? I like the black one better. To all: please don't use these as sigs on MSFN. They don't meet our rules.
  10. Thanks for all the input! I'll definitely try TeraCopy this week when I have a few days off work. Has anyone tried Super Copier 2? I can't tell what the license is as most of the site is in French. A F/OSS product would be my preference so I'll have to check out Freshmeat before I start testing
  11. This poll may answer your question.
  12. How long does it stop responding? Just a few seconds, or does it completely freeze up until reset? Depending on the size of those images, it can take some time to delete them. It takes longer to delete thousands of small files than it does a few large files.
  13. Ahhh, now *that* takes me back! I used to make mIRC do some really neat stuff back in the day. Surprisingly capable program, even if didn't scale well...but it wasn't meant to
  14. I never had any luck with OPL3 on my old Panasonic Toughbook laptop. No advice to give you except that I don't use that laptop anymore
  15. I was reading this article recently: Speed up file copying with TeraCopy and wondered if MSFN folks use such tools. The comments section of that page lists other tools that do similar things. Here are some of the claimed benefits: Pause/resume seems handy, but I wonder if these tools are really any/much faster and how handy the error recovery really is.Does anyone use tools like these? How well do they perform?
  16. Here is another option: Net Profiles
  17. Yes. What are you trying to do?Just stumbled onto this page today: Quick Start Multiple Services using Batch and Net Nothing new, but demonstrates usage of the batch commands.
  18. Here is some previous discussion on certs. There are more topics in this subforum. I'd say that without any experience you may not be too attractive as a new hire. If you have the knowledge/ability to pass the tests then perhaps a cert could help you get a job. But some of those tests are tough to pass without real experience. Good luck on the career change. I'll have to do that eventually and seems very daunting.
  19. Here is a news article about a lady who drinks 12 cans of Diet Coke per day. And here is some people commenting on the story. And here is a link just for you, ripken! Should We Unilaterally Ban Junk Food Advertising Targetting Children?
  20. Me neither, it seems hfslip.org is down/not working. I just get a blank(white) page when I try to visit http://hfslip.org or http://www.hfslip.org oh, BTW, I don't have the timezone problem with hfslip 1.5.0 & XP SP2 spanish...and i AM ss kb931836 You should both be able to access the site now. Sorry for the trouble.
  21. Thanks for the link. My phone is still working for now. I need to get moving on this transition I don't expect to see a dime of my money back. But good luck getting the gizmo from me!
  22. Broadbandreports is doing a great job with this. How To Flee SunRocket SunRocket's Gravedigger Speaks Looks like Friday is D-day for SR. Here are some of the handy links they've provided. http://gizmopasswords.blogspot.com/ (Really good password/unlocking/unbricking info) http://thecrustysysarch.blogspot.com/ (Blog about SR stuff) Here are some anti-billing tips. I was so bright that I paid for a lot of service up front to reduce the aggregate cost. They already have my money. Drats! [updated this topic's title to reflect all the SunRocket info]
  23. Looks like we have different Gizmos. Mine is an AC-211-SR from 2005. A quick search reveals some passwords/tactics for getting into the device. Thanks for posting your info, though. It is likely to come in handy when I reconfigure my device
  24. That page, and much of the inofrmation in this topic, is frightening! I always drink water when I exercise. The water fountain is right there on the track so it is nice and easy to stop running for a bit to get a drink Dramatic and frightening. The Fox piece was overly dramatized but had some salient points. This is all Rumsfeld's fault? What *isn't* his fault these days? That is a neat idea, but I haven't had a Splenda product yet that I've liked. Maybe it is an acquired taste?@monikermilk: You make some great, sober counterpoints to most of the arguments here. Thanks for that. Too much fearmongering can conceal reality. That was really part of what I originally wanted to know. How much soda (aspartame?) does the average person intake? Is there an FDA recommendation? How do we define moderation for this? Thanks for all the replies and information!
