  1. correct a moondo. It can't PHYSICALLY be done without recreating the kernel file and applying the cod eyour self. Which you CAN'T do without having hte WIndows Source Code, which you WON'T have for home use.
  2. i suspect more of a error of you didn't recreate your bootfolder after slipstreaming SP2.
  3. EasyBoot anyone?
  4. goes to show what happens when you follow a non-msfn guide
  5. just curious if there have been any new advancements or anything?
  6. dude, understand before saying they're wrong. "\%systemdrive%" indeed does NOT work, HOWEVER he has "\"%systemdrive the \" escapes the quote so that it is imported into the registry properly, because ""%systemdrive%\Program Files\setup" /qb" does NOT work. if SmokingGun's thing doesn't work, remove the cmdow @ /hid at teh beginning and retest. You probally have a prompt somewhere waiting for a response (missing /f perhaps_)
  7. www.newegg.com is my bet But i normally buy +R's. and I tend to stick with Ritek's media (one of the major brands, supplies people like TDK and SONY with their media which they rebrand). I can get 100 typically for 30-40 dollars, and not one of them are bad.
  8. you need quotes around the entire command typically, which means no embedded quotes.
  9. @evilvoice WMP10's installer checks the digital signature..... where as digital signature of XP files are not checked untill T-12 just after SVCPACK.INF has run. as for using /integrate switch with WMP10 setup, I don't believe that will work. WMP10 uses a different installer then Type 1 Hotfixes.
  10. @kurt476 STOP! READ! he simply replaced CD.TXT in what Tsunami QUOTED with WIN51IP.SP2 as THAT file is already in the CDROOT of an XP CD. THE FILE YOU SPECIFY CAN BE ANYTHING!!! EVEN AUTORUN.INF IF YOU'RE SO INCLINED. Thread Closed.
  11. make it invalid. If it can't find the theme or load a theme, XP usually defaults to classic theme.
  12. you HAVE to declare the CDROM variable to do something like that. Unless you use a program like Autoplay Menu Studio which has built in support. you HAVE to declare it SOMEWHERE.
  13. you could AutoIT it. Some programs allow for silent installation, like Windows Installer and I believe InstallShield. Windows Installer..... if you have the original MSI msiexec.exe /u (MSI) /qb should make it silent. I'm not sure for InstallShield.
  14. instaling the hotfix prior to install WMP10 will just negate the hotfix. So...bummer.
  15. i last saw DVD Decrypter on the STICKY in the applications forum. DVD Shrink if memory serves is a NullSoft Installer (NSIS) So, BOTH are /S . CAPITAL S not lowercase s.
  16. This thread is here by retired, in favor of the superior one put together by Incrdible Hulk.
  17. set OEMPreInstall=NO i believe fixes it. or do what the other two members said.
  18. three options.... Windows PE (which you can only get from a 3pack of XP) BartPE (uses your XP CD to make a PE CD) Windows Embedded (used in mobile devices and such.) There is a seperate Windows PE forum to ask questions in. I suggest BartPE. search for it in google.
  19. last I saw, it's a Windows Installer package. use /qb
  20. did you happen to check in the CAB files?
  21. instead of paying for a piece of software like that POS... use a hacked UXtheme.dll file. That's pretty much all StyleXP does. It replaces UXtheme.dll in memory. Just download the hacked UXtheme.dll file from the unattended.msfn.org website (under hacked files) and replace the file in I386 with it.
  22. BOY!! I TOLD you the only ways so far documented.... Download the bootdisks form Microsoft (SETUP BOOT DISKS) and extract them all to a folder... Use a virtual Machine, install an older version of windows, and do it that way. THOSE ARE THE ONLY WAYS
  23. @drew Read Flyakite's website under XP. Instead of downloading the boot discs from Windows, it says to do a mock install....sorta like Gosh's Reduced Source Method. It starts the install in Windows, copies the files over to the harddrive in $WINNT~LS$ or something like that. The BT folder is what we're trying to get at. Only reason I had a clue what he was talkin about specifically was the forum he posted in Otherwise I would have said the same as you.
  24. have you tried REMOVING the trailing spaced after assing CDROM? you have SET CDROM=D:_ with the _ representing the SPACE
  25. if you're attemping Windows 2000 that will work..... you need the BOOT FOLDERS http://flyakite.msfnhosting.com/2000.htm number 4 is what you need. Unless you have another system with XP RTM/SP1 or Windows 2000
