using boot editor to create DUAL boot kernel
Alanoll replied to cyberthug's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
did you even solve your last problem? did you even search? To create a dual processor kernel, you gotta use same renaming trickery. Find the kernel file that Boot Editor is using to make the new ones, exchange it with the dual processor kernel, and recreate. Do you actually mean dual boot or dual processor? If dual boot, give an example of what you mean. As for implementing, I ahve a post in the Cosmetics sticky...go read. -
umm.... if you were to combine them, you would need to get around the Copy Protection. I don't really see why they have a copy protection on Half-Life 2. If when you install, you have to connect to steam to validate the install, and go through it to run the program, then you have to use your steam account, which only ONE person can access at a time and the CDKEY can only be used ONCE. I understand Copy Protection on games that don't validate over the net, since you can easily just go to another computer install and make a copy and your friend can play at the same time with you (Starcraft anyone?). I personally wish I didn't need to use the CD to run the game, like you don't when you purchase through Steam. Main reason I use the Steam accout vs the CD Steam Account. And now I'm rambling, so I'll shutup now

@Mac Indeed. I usually go for the Collector's Editions or DVD editions where possible. Exception being Half-Life 2. I wasn't about to spend $30 more dollars for a DVD, then have it not work, then have to wait a month for a fix, and THEN still need the disc to play after installer, and THEN still not have access to Steam's backlog of games. I'd rather use my free ATI Bundle for steam, and pay $10 for the CS:CZ and HL1:Source and DOD:Source, and buy the CD version of the game since I got the steam version for free. Halo 2, that's was $5 more for the collector's edition in the case and extra disc. Can't pass that up....

This thread is just begging for someone to ask for a crack.... Wow....guess I bought the DVD edition for nothing

use booteditor to add your images and pallete as well. Then take it's kernel file. If it freezes, it coudl also be that you're taking the WRONG kernel file. ie. you're using the multikernel for a single kernel system (P4's with hyperthreading use the multikernel, where as AMDs and virtual machines do not)

Don't double post. -
the rest of the dialogs are still there, to select the program and what not, jsut the initial one asking to check online or not for that program is disabled.

that's I believe two desktop PCs working together uninterrupted. Mainframes and such would knock it down significantly.

If it's using RSA encryptiong (most likely) it can be decrypted. However, the problem is time and raw processing speed. If the government needed the data....say espionage....or something, they may spend the time, otherwise.... depending on the system, and how long the encryption keys are, it can take upwards of 6 months to decrypt the files.

f in nLite, why not post in the nLite section? To answer your question, when open an unknown format, there is an initial screen before selecting the program, of checking the web for the right program. It disables that screen.

I may not keep this thread up dated when I release the MSI, primarily because I'll start a new one.

maybe I'm one of the lucky few with not an all tricked out system....but I have yet to recieve any bugs or AI disabling. maybe because my system is a laptop which means all the hardware isn't top of the line...but then again, didnn't have an issue on my desktop either.

honestly, I think CDIMAGE has a limitation of 4 gigs or something. Everytime I built an ISO with the -o option on a multiboot DVD, the XP install would quit on me. When I tried UltraISO to do the optomize, I found that instead of doing a hash or whatever to determine if the files where teh same, it based it on file size and date I believe. Maybe they fixed it since the version I tried....dunno. I've been using mkisofs with the dfl option. I haven't tried making a multiboot yet (on my things to do), so I don't know how it'll work.

change the ISO filesystem from standard to extended -
any large changes of hardware recently?
-
sure you used modifype correctly? That should fix the checksum... it may also be the little problem that Astalavista or someone mentioned about the date changing. Might look into that. and just alittle minor vocab correction. It's not a "boot screen", it's more of a "setup screen" I'm not trying make ya mad or anything, just when some future person reads this, they don't get confused

setup halts on copying winntbbu.dll
Alanoll replied to mado21's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Actually, you don't need it. If you skip the file at the error, Setup will continue without a problem (Ever wonder how nLite does the "Classic Setup Screens"?) But tsunami's respons concerning modifype should get you going. -
everything else is on the site or on the forum. Topic closed.

good thing I'm not a stickler about people not crediting me for info I gave em, huh Simon? But seriously, there was one for 5.04, 5.05, 5.06 and now 5.07. The only reason I didn't make an MSI for 5.06 is simply because well....I already said. Serious security problem, so there would be a fix soon anyways and waste of time.
-
I didn't do one for 5.0.6 simply because I knew a new one would be out in a matter of weeks. No point wasting time. I should get started on the MSI this weekend. And finish this weekend as well Now as for these numerous threads....why do people always make a new thread asking for something or whether something still works just for a new minor version? Geeze people.
