  1. could you maybe post your winnt.sif? i personally find your posts very vague and I have no idea what it wrong, as you don't appear to have complete thoughts.

what do ya kno... I was right
  3. now the real questions is.... why would you install the WMP9 codecs when you already have WMP9 installed?
  4. i dunno about swapfile, but the ZIP fix should be fine to be run in cmdlines.txt
  5. if %System% doesn't have any spaces in it, then you don't need quotes around %SYSTEM%\Software\SunJava\j2re-1_4_2_03-windows-i586-p.exe you also forgot to escape the embedded quotes by /qn and end it with a quote. Fix line: REG ADD %KEY%\050 /V 1 /D "\"%SYSTEM%\Software\SunJava\j2re-1_4_2_03-windows-i586-p.exe\" /s /v \"/qn ADDLOCAL=jrecore IEXPLORER=1\""
  6. define slipstreamed? integrated into the source like the hotfix files are, or like the .NET pack where the install is called from svcpack.inf? You can't integrate. But including it on the CD is possible, I don't know the switches however. When you do find them (probally /Q:A /R:N ) you would need to make it into an iexpress package (instructions are on GreenMachine's website) and the drop it into SVC-EXE Or you could include it in a batch file run elsewhere.
  7. why don't you just run the files from cmdlines.txt?
  8. first how does this relate to Dial-Up Networking? second, have you tried READING? It's in the documentation that comes with teh deploy.cab file.
  9. i don't beleive there is one. YOu could try and go to the Windows Update Corporate or Windows Catalog and have it list them for you.
  10. go to unattended.msfn.org under Additions in the menu. It's probally lik OEM Infor or something EDIT: Direct Link http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/oeminfo.htm
  11. the Welcome screen doesn't come up because you probaly have a Unattended=yes in your answer files.
  12. he renamed his krnl to ntoskrnl.exe or ntkrnlmp.exe depending on if it's single or multiprocessor, ran modifype ntoskrnl.exe -c on the files.... then ran makecab ntoskrnl.exe and then move the newly created ntoskrnl.ex_ to i386
  13. i love how people don't bother to search before posting......
  14. please don't become another Famer. please oh please. Do you have Alcohol,Easy CD Creator, DVD Decryptor, or ANY other burning program? Do you have a VIRUTAL MACHINE software? Such as Virtual PC or VMWare? If not, go download the demo, and see if the ISO you create even works to being with instead of burning failures. When do you get hte black screen? You're being quite vague in your descriptions. In order to help you, we need to know exactly when it happens. Do you get the screen that says "Press Any key..." or the "Setup is now inspecting..." ? Do you get to the Blue screen? I'm no nero professional, but do you really have to tell it "CD Bootable"? I know in EasyCD you don't have to, and Alcohol and DVD Decryptor you just tell it what image to burn and it does it without any quesitons asked.
  15. why would you need the SID? If you apply the settings once the desktop loads, they would get overwritten by the "current" settings upon restart. also, HKU\SID is dynamicaly linked to HKCU. Change a key in HKCU and then check the same key in HKU\SID, they both change. But yes, it always starts with S- and 43 characters if it isn't the Default User,Admin, or Guest
  16. after you make the ISO, BURN THE ISO! Like aaron side, you just went back to square one. It shouldn't account for your winnt.sif file not being used UNLESS you took files form the wrong location.
  17. yes....AaronXP designed that site... I don't even see where you got the create the image, then extract, then burn.... unless You're starting from a RTM CD or something, made an ISO, extracted the files, and then added the unattended neccesary files to it, and THEN burned?

a good working set of files? the files inside the ZIP are the "standard things" it may be helpful if you attached your XML but I'm not sure. Whoops, You alrady have
  20. dunno about proper format... but if you go to Green's website (not the XPCreate one, but base one. greenmachine.msfnhosting.com ) click RAID/SATA drivers, and read that. It may help you. as for the string of numbers, you should try a SEARCH. TXTSETUP.SIF Explained is what you should look for.
  21. why don't you just rehack the SP2 and editing the same stuff? or is it not there?
  22. i personally just like to have alittle control over my system. I remember one time I deleted i think a screensaver and WFP popped up saying a critical system file has been modified. Now seriously, a screensaver? I understand like actual critical files, but only the bare minimum ones. There are some that just don't have a point. Then comes along the uxtheme.dll file, but then again Microsoft didn't want us writing our own themes anyway
  23. you can. just edit how you want, then makecab and replace the original. Worked fine for me. Didn't have any errors during the copy over, and the Firewall was disabled upon startup.
  24. do you not want it to ask for the what paritition and file system? this would do the file system question: FileSystem=* and might have something to do with AutoPartition as well.
