  1. add in GUIUnattend AutoLogon = YesAutoLogonCount = 6Change the count to however many times you want it to autologon. I don't know if you make if not ever run out,
  2. as the next thing to do AFTER SP2 is installed, you could try SLEEP it's a program you have to downloaded (unattended.msfn.org) but it might work. And yes, a clean install rather than uninstall reinstall is always a better choice.
  3. why don't you change it on your system to what you want, go to that key and see what it says?
  4. 837009 should be /Q:A /R:N 831167 shoudl be /Q:A /R:N it helps if you tell the error by the way. as for right direction....got forbid you look in the sticky section for HOTFIXES making it easier, http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8741 Please search. But you do you get points for using quote tags, instead of just copy pasting
  5. lets.... First: Use a more descriptive title. It's in the rules, and annoucements. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=18408 Second: Post the files that deal with adding the user to begin with. Can't tell you where you are wrong if don't tell show use what you have to begin with.
  6. @dukeleto please use code tags like enuffsaid has done. It's quite easy. Just press teh code button. The hidden files setting can be found it you check the big massive thread in the sticky section called, Registry Tweaks. EDIT: You have the settig already in your file, but you're setting to I think to show hidden files and whatnot. [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced]"Hidden"=dword:00000001that's what you have. Just remove the Hidden line and it should default to XP's not showing them
  7. riiight.... and you didn't look at the site I gave you. Hacked Files under Additions, and Disable WFP also under Aditions. you're not reading. and it's not that it isn't passing WFP, which isn't even enabled untill you to go GUIInstall (the blue background with the progress bar on the left, and little Windows tidbits in the middle). During txtmode (the dos looking screen) it's just checking checksums. look at the pages I gave you, follow them TO THE LETTER and you won't have problems.
  8. Don't press any key twice. If you do remove it, you will get sent into an endless loop. You can remove it by removing bootfix.bin i believe from I386. If you press a key twice, like you press first time, it goes through it's thing and then restarts, and then press it again, it will just do the same thing over again without continueing. My suggestion, would be to use CDShell. Not to create a menu, to so you can modify the prompt that is displayed. Or that it needs a special key press or something to get the Blue Screen back again (textmode where it copies files over).
  9. Kite was talkin about a normal 98 boot disk. In Config.sys, it contains all those boot menus you'd normally get like Boot with CDROM driver, no CDROM drivers and whatnot. he meant, only include options to boot from CD.
  10. yeah, just try to reformat the thing. Might fix it. If you're feeling REALLY lucky with your key, you could slipstream it into your original XP cd, and then you'll find out quicker. It won't install if the key is bad.....
  11. same here. I bet the repetitive Sasser thing got annoying. I remember one time i called Comcast support (yes, Comcast) and I was on hold for a good 2 hours, and then hung up. I forget what they were saying, but god did it get annoying. Then i called back, and was bounced aruond different departments. What funs are the support teams.
  12. that are some places, that trick the system. The box comes up, you click no, but the thing still gets installed. It's really annoying, but good thing I have a unattended disc, 30 minutes later, I have a perfectly clean system once again
  13. that's not the product key. that would be the GUID the number assigned to the computer. sounds to me like you're using a illegal copy. 640's if I remember were caused by a widely used pirated key, that was blacklisted in SP1. Go buy the the thing, and you won't get the error. EDIT:: it's not GUID, it's PID. Whoops.
  14. no.... I have a multiboot disk with 98 on it, and it works.... I'm going to try and emulate it, and then post instructions on how.....(i should point out, it's basically what Microsoft did when they burned the disk, just changing paths)
  15. yeah.... look at unattended.msfn.org That will answer you question
  16. uitheme? should be uxtheme.dll also, if you don't use a properly cracked uxtheme.dll then it won't work. as for the Welcome screen.....I never touched replacing the original. I always use a registry key to change it.
  17. it check certain Registry keys for whether the correct information is there. I forget if it does anything else. Not very effective to be honest, but it's the only one I could think of at the time.
  18. i believe I've said this before. $Prog and $Docs don't work.
  19. i should point out... setup applies some settigns while in DefaultHide but not in FullUnattend. And vise versa. It really wierd.
  20. sory, got side tracked..... I had exams this week. And then my CPU fan went out, and just now got around to fixing it.
  21. don't know if you obtained illegally, don't really care. Don't talk about it here, or give any hints/tips or anything to it. you double posted. Read the rules before doing so again.
  22. mmkay, that was a suitable response..... i was refering to the OTHER methods of bypassing
  23. typically WU is really dumb. If there is acomponent missing that's part of an update, WU will say the update is not installed. search for a program called.... qfecheck.exe i think that's it.
  24. though I did say it MIGHT be ok, you may still want to get in touch with their respective others from which you got the information, to actually see if they approve or not.
  25. I should warn, if anyone even mentions how to bypass it, this thread is closed. It's against the forum rules. There is NO way to bypass activation except unless you have a Volume License Agreement with Microsoft, and then they'd give you a VLK version to use.
