  1. umm.... did you even LOOK at his site? and LOGFILES.CAB is the file XPCReate makes after the process, and located in the NEWFILES directory inside where you executed XPCreate. greenmachine.msfnhosting.com make a minimal WORKING installation before going any farther. Before adding winnt.sif or anything. Just do what his site tells you, AND THEN add to it. You're not putting the hotfix files where his website is telling you, you're trying to add them yourself. Just follow his site with regards to Hotfixes and you'll be fine.
  2. i would personally use SETX.EXE . It should do the same thing as SETENV Link : http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en Your theory sounds good. I've heard of problems with Zips and whatnot. Why do you need to set a Machine variable? Is it used later on or something? If SETENV is anything like SETX, then the variable is not available UNTILL you start your next batch, and not before. If you're just using this variable in this batch file, just use SET. Is %CDROM1% even defined? I'm just curious on this one.
  3. it is always worth a shot. but then again, you're router will have to be configured for DHCP i think. Mine didn't work, but my network needs specific IPs assigned to each computer.
  4. no. the network and settings usually aren't active till first startup.
  5. last I heard, Flyakite was writing a guide for it. Maybe he stoppeD?
  6. you're problem is with WINNT.SIF not XPCREATE. you need OEMPreInstall=Yes in Unattended
  7. still can't do that either. You need an active internet connection for it to work.
  8. i typically use my drive "F" to install 98. So i don't think so. I got from free time today, so I'll try and do some experimenting and report what i find.
  9. is XPCDBOOT the actual file, because files usually have extensions
  10. sounds like a logitech software thing. but could be wrong. it could use a InstallShield installer.
  11. you didn't specify as bootimgfile. You specified a path, not the file. as you trying to use CDShell?
  12. stebie, you do know how OEMPnPDriversPath works right? the ; seperates the paths in a registry key. Windows they goes through it recursivly scanning each directory, and assign %systemdrive% to the path up to each semicolon. The semicolon never gets included. He could always try to take out DriverSigningPolicy, he was bound to include that at the same time as OEMPnpDriversPath
  13. yeah, wouldn't that really suck? "umm....yeah...we were supposed to release these a few years ago, but the operating system that it was supposed to patch wasn't done yet, so decided not to."
  14. i don't see anything wrong with that line. If i counted correctly, line thirteen is.... FileSystem=*try to remove that before you do what stedie said.
  15. remove the quotes from OemPnPDriversPath
  16. I thought Jono fixed that.....or maybe he didn't. I mentioned in a previous post that his installer downloaded the express installs of the April fixes instead of the full ones. Maybe Grimsage got an old version, or maybe Jono didn't update it.
  17. well, the User is created....that's a start try that net localgroup Administrators Michael /addcommand on the system and see if it works. Since you're from Australia Administrators shouldn't be spelled differently, but it could be. Make sure that's how Administrators is spelt on your version of XP that you're installing. It looks right. In fact it looks like you copied straight from the site (atleast you looked at the site )
  18. you know, you didn't ahve to start two threads for the same file. Could have jsut said now I have an error at line 51 as well. Also, remember to use CODE tags, it makes it alot prettier. I already edited your post. Edit:: ahhh, that joys of READING THE MANUAL
  19. the listed howfixes here are specific to XP (atleas tmost, but not all). The instructions on the unattended.msfn.org website apply to XP/2003 but still works in 2K. I would recommend XPCreate for ease. greenmachine.msfnhosting.com
  20. well, English, German, and Japanese are typically the first ones to be released. Maybe the french is still coming.
  21. sure.... http://www.winternals.com/products/repaira...ndex.asp?pid=ap
  22. copy them to another drive or CD, or try to perform an UPGRADE install. Put the XP CD into the CDROM while still in windows, and start the install. When given the option between Full Install or Upgrade, choose upgrade.
  23. now by best method, do you mean the one at the top of that post, or the one near the bottom? Or the one WinZip's website says to do, or the one that is in the "Application Switches" sticky?
  24. are you actually going to use the Administrator account or create another one with Admin priveleges? If you go with the first one, Then what I gave you will automatically log you in, your specified number of times. After that you'll need to import the registry settings yourself.... (http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/autologon.htm)
  25. it's probally because they might not be officialy released, and only to SP2 testers.
