  1. well, I'm trying to keep the old while adding the new (old interface, new files and perhaps INI file instead of commandline [real pain, majority of time so far])
  2. tis true.... but there are those picky people only want Audio and now Video..... I think I'm going to add a poll.....
  3. this MSI was here first by the way Also this MSI would be a complete remake of the original, so everything will be there, and you choose what to install via switches. And I believe for awhile is was a competition between the two (XtremeMax and Mazin). His MSI requires you to do numerous steps. This is a one time download and you're done. Select what you want, badda bing badda boom.
  4. the "Press Any Key" prompt isn't caused by the bootsector. It's a file in I386 called bootfix.bin i believe.
  5. Alrighty, new Winamp version 5.0.4, but my question is.... How many of you want a new MSI file this version? Or do you prefer this way : http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=22187 The second way means you won't have to wait for my busy schedule to have to time to remake this thing. It also shouldn't need all that many ways to change when they change the installer (not soon, current Winamp development is on hold for a bit). It's up to yall, but no offense to those who want it, if there are only 1 or 2, there really isn't much point. So speak up now.
  6. 1. There may not be a DefaultInstall section in the INF, it fails. 2. If it does anything, it will most likely only copy over the files to system32 but not actually initialize the hardware. 3. If it does initialize the hardware, it may initialize every instance of it in the INF as it doesn't know what to do.
  7. I was waiting for .4 to come out before updating that massive MSI. The thing is a beast. I knew it was coming out, so I didn't see the point of releasing the .3c without .4 just the next week Also, Winamp forums usually posts the downloads before the website is updated. The people that usually post the links in the forums are usually associated with the devs.
  8. but those install one's are a pain, as they're not present in the actual archive you download. You have to run the SETUP in administrative mode, to get the proper files. Why can't Intel just make things easy?
  9. this page may or may not prove useful.... http://www.j79zlr.com/gphome.php it deals with group policies, but I've never delved into group policies before (except on how to bypass them at work )
  10. i really don't see what he did wrong. True the batch files would be better however. The Winnt.sif looks fine. It's all about what HE wants his install to do. But, it could be that NET is not in the path that CMDLINES.TXT operates under. A batch file called from CMDLINES.TXT has different functionality then CMDLINES.TXT itself as the batchfile acutally initializes an environment and whatnot.
  11. setup.exe -a -a will extract the proper drivers if it's for intel. Then just put what ever controller you have on your CD. 865 uses ICH5 and most current boards do. otherwise... if it's an installshield app, -r and -f1 are your friend. unattended.msfn.org tells how to use them
  12. well, what I was getting at, was when I posted, the old updates were still listed But sure, now that you answered it, there we go
  13. http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/applications/msjava.htm Brand new page....
  14. so we're to slipstream the service pack AND apply the old patches?
  15. http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/java/faq.asp
  16. it could just be the new MyDoom that's going around. When I go to say Yahoo, all their pictures don't load either.
  17. don't really need to update.....it's the same process, different files But yeah....update non the less.....
  18. http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=8385
  19. run it once, let it do it's thing. Then open XPCREATE.INI and change DLAUTO=YES to NO, and then delete away, and run it again.
  20. ok..... so....did you post winnt.sif? You may have two entries of the OEMPreInstall. Are your files being copied over? is your batch file in the same folder as CMDLINES.TXT? GUIRUNONCE is just a section of your WINNT.SIF file taht calls a batch file on the harddrive. Perhaps you're thinking RUNONCEEX? But in either case, winnt.sif? FYI - You're Powertyos path is wrong, it's missing \Applications\
  21. but do they run from CMDLINES.TXT or GUIRUNONCE? Perhaps posting your WINNT.SIF file?
  22. do you ahve OEMPreInstall=Yes in your winnt.sif file?
  23. i find that the names of the pages are self-sufficient. Are the regtweaks meant for all users, say the keys in HKCU, then cmdlines.txt is your best bet. HKLM can be imported from both CMDLINES.TXT and GUIRUNONCE. But for simplicity, CMDLINES.TXT might be easier.
  24. XPlode is the new incarnation..... xplode.voidfx.com XPinstall was discontinued due to naming i think, and changed to XPlode.
  25. @easy Are you still using XPInstall? or XPlode? just curious, because of the name you posted your XML as...... (I'm going to fix your post, and add CODE tags and remove your Nero Key)
