  1. Perhaps if you posted a pic, we might be interested in marriage. P.S. - Did you try this link: http://xpcreate.com/raid.htm
  2. Why doesn't he have a purchase link or something? I'm sure many would like to have the commercial version. I have contacted him, but because of my institution (university) if I can't pay with a CC or PO, then I'd have to buy it myself.
  3. If I wanted to add a shortcut to the ALL USERS desktop, would I put it in $oem\$docs\all users\desktop?
  4. My 2000 source CD is at base level (no SPs). When I run XPCREATE, it doesn't detect that there is an SP4. It looks like it only downloaded IE6. I blanked my XPCREATE directory and started again, but same result. I have attached my log files. Is this a known issue that I missed? I know the hotfix lists were in a state of flux for awhile and I hadn't heard whether or not they were back up. Also GM- I'd be happy to help you test the new version. LOGFILES.CAB

    SP2

Anyone else getting an application error when update.exe runs to do the slipstream? I get it whether through XPCREATE or if I try to slipstream manually. For now, I am just forgetting about SP2. Just wondering if anyone else ran into this.
  6. Wouldn't that be cool?! If you had a nickel for every post you made...lol It's strange how people can completely ignore the fact that hard work goes into tools like this. Once I show my department how much time this saves, I'm going to try and lobby for a payment to GM to support his efforts.
  7. lol, yes I am trying that now.
  8. Yes, I read the license. I work in a university environment (University of Florida actually), which is a state educational institution.
  9. My original CD says not for retail or OEM distribution. So, I figured by trying to do the OEM stuff in the winnt.sif file, perhaps it wouldn't accept a non-OEM product id. I am testing this now, but does anyone have the answer?
  10. I understand. And thank you very much for XPCREATE. I estimate that this tool, combined with unattended installs, will save my department around 300 man hours this year! What an awesome thing indeed!
  11. GM- Do you have a problem with modifying XPCREATE.CMD for the purpose of debugging? I have added pause statements in the past to stop execution so I can look at the directories at certain times. However, if you don't want us to do that, then I will stop. I just like to try and figure out what I'm doing wrong myself so I don't have to bombard the forum with messages. Thanks
  12. Ok, so after hours of digging I found that the media I have was bought before we got the Select license. Any chance that using the OEMPreinstall stuff is causing this since it's possible that the the Product ID is not and OEM product id? I just started trying to use the $OEM$ folder when I started getting this message. Thanks.
  13. Ok, I'll test. If so, then I'll have to start from scratch. Thanks for your replies.
  14. I think you are confusing product id's and activation. You always need a product id to install Windows. However, select licenses don't require activation. Windows 2000 didn't have activation anyway. The product id used to work, then I started tweaking winnt.sif and XPCREATE. My last two CD's have given that error. Manually entering doesn't work. Just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem or knows what could cause it.
  15. No, it's our Select License Product Id. They would have told me if they blacklisted it. I work for a University, and our keys are valid. We don't do the piracy thing. The key is valid, as I've used it before. Besides, this is Windows 2000, which requires no activation.
