  3. WZOR posted some pictures of Build 10056: http://wzor.net/37418.html Still nothing "impressive" shown, only depressing.
  4. the following ASUS service starts slowly: <serviceTransition name="AsusFanControlService" group="" transition="start" totalTransitionTimeDelta="30000" firstCheckpointTimeDelta="30000" This causes a 30s delay.
  5. leave them installed. They only need a few MB of HDD space and are very useful when you have issues
  6. OldNewExplorer also breaks OpenDialogs for me under Windows 8 while installing MSI packages like LibreOffice/VisualSVN. The applications simply hang/become unresponsive. Unregistering OldNewExplorer fixes it. I only activated the option to kill the Up Button.
  7. yeah. The important things are the 2 lines thumbcache.dll!CThumbnailProviderWrapper::GetThumbnail and shell32.dll!CPropertyThumbnailHandler::_GetThumbnailInternal. So the issues comes from generating thumbnails. Turn this off in the Explorer options and let Windows always show only the file icons
  8. for what? Posting (some negative) feedback about Windows 10? The MS forums are a troll community.
  9. it is the successor, but a complete new tool. Copy the attached file to the same folder where the latency.etl is stored and make a double click on it (remove the .txt extension first so that is shows .wpa as extension). It opens the required graphs for normal cpu usage and DPC usage. Load the symbols and expand the stack. This looks similar to the old UI. latency_ETL_symbols_microsoft.wpa.txt
  10. this guide was written for the old xperfview, not the WPA.exe. Share the ETL file and I'll take a look at it.
  11. no, this is a normal Windows function. Your slow 5400rpm drive slows down the system too much.
  12. you have to select the zip on OneDrive, click on "share" to get a public link. Post this public ink here.
  13. ok, in WinlogonInit Phase the function UpdatePerUserSystemParameters takes over 300s to finish. But the underlaying issue is your 320GB 5400RPM WD3200BEVT-60A23T0 HDD. It is busy all the time. Replace it with a SSD.
  14. compress the ETL file as zip/RAR, upload the zip to a cloud service (OneDrive, dropbox, or a 1 Click Hoster like Zippyshare.com) and post a link here.
  15. copy the CBS fodler to the desktop, compress it as zip, upload the zip to a cloud service (OneDrive, dropbox, or a 1 Click Hoster like Zippyshare.com) and post a link here.
  16. With Win10 the UI is now a mix of iOS, Android (Hamburger menu) and a bit left from the old WP (but without transparent tiles). I'll only hope they release Win8.1 GDR2 and I will stay on this version. If I want Android, I would buy a Samsung crap device.
  17. I need the ETL file to see more details. xbootmgr -trace boot -traceFlags BASE+LATENCY+DISK_IO_INIT+DISPATCHER+FILE_IO+FILENAME+POWER -stackwalk profile+CSwitch+ReadyThread+DiskReadInit+DiskWriteInit -resultPath C:\TEMP
  18. @MrGRiM can you also replace the Taskbar? I don't like the one from Win10.
  19. share the CBS logs from C:\Windows\logs\CBS
  20. thanks. The newer version is better. I'll test the theme a bit in the Win10 TP
  21. thanks. It doesn't like exactly like the 8 RP, but still a bit better compared to the default theme.
  22. Which tools do you use to create those atlas files? I also want a RP theme.
  23. this is an uneducated troll. Ignore his billshit. He is a brown noser to get his troll title every year (MVP). I also had issues with him when I still visited the MS forums.
