  1. The link takes me to my One Drive login. Not sure how to link without a login. I assume that is possible. I will check the event file. I have had to read/write errors at all; just can't update the system. Seems so unlikely not to have such errors if filesystem is the problem. What would look like errors or warnings about the drive in the event file? Thanks for the response. I do hope to get to bottom of all this. Appreciate the assistance.
  2. CBS log file zipped on One Drive - hopefully.https://onedrive.live.com/?id=5579D1CB7F196E62!106&cid=5579d1cb7f196e62
  3. Will do! Thanks for the instructions. Anxious to learn what is happening or not as the case may be.
  4. I copied the CBS log file into a response. Not sure it posted. How do I attach such long files like the CBS log file? Thanks for any help.
  5. My Windows 8.1 Pro could not install the cumulative update a couple of months ago. I briefly tried using the dism command but had no luck. Then I became quite busy and could not go back to try dism. Updates contined being installed until the cumulative update became an important update. The it could still not be installed. I tried the dism command, dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth It appeared to run and ended with the statement "source files could not be downloaded." I turned off my Norton 360 firewall and ran the command again. Same result. The log file notes several incorrect locations and some activity then becomes unreadable characters. I will copy the log file up to the unreadable characters below. I could not attach the file, received the message I could not attach such files. Any help appreciated as I want to keep my system updated. I would also like to learn more about the dism command in the process. Any good reference sources for that? Thanks for any and all help. 6. Interestingly, all updates installed with no problems on my Windows 8 and 8.1 Pro 64 bit until KB3000850. The update installed on my laptop, with the same Windows OS, with no issues at all. On my desktop, it stated could not install and proceeded to uninstall the update. The notice that is could not be installed came during the restart after first attempting to update. The system got to 8% updated, restarted and then upon restart with the second updating that usually starts with 30% installed, quickly stopped and noted could not be installed. Then the system uninstalled it. However, the update history notes it has been successfully installed twice. What exactly is the status of this update on my system? Has it actually been installed? Is some type of log or file corrupt? Any help appreciated.
