  1. the riva 128 (ZX)-Cards use an own driver, not the detonater driver. And I don't remember that NVIDA ever released a XP-driver.
  2. use a reg-file and import it from cmdlines.txt
  3. use ProcessExplorer, this programs give you more details about the process and display the name of the service which causes the 99% cpu usage. btw, welcome
  4. I prefer a larger removement of compenents from windows server 2003. I only need the IIS to develop web applications, so I don't need all other services from windows 2003.
  5. you have to copy your CD to a folder on your hdd and select this folder
  6. @dirtwarrior source? What kind will it be in the future?
  7. save yout WINNT.sif on a floppy disk and insirt the disk while installing Windows and so you'll be able to do a repairinstallation.
  8. I prefer .NET 2.0, its cooler than JAVA and gives you more possibilities in programming as you have with C++ and MFC or with Win32API. And please, forgett VB
  9. the download through connect only works with the IE
  10. I install every Hotfix for Office and Windows on every patchday
  11. aha, you don't have a real MCE, instead of this you want to make your Prof to a MCE. sorry, I have a genuine version of Windows XP MCE.
  12. I switched back to WindowsUpdate und searched for Office-Hotfixes seperately. This is a **** stupid bug.
  13. you also need .NET 1.0 SP3 because the Sonic DVD- and CD Burnng Tool needs this. And without the programm MC will not work. How do you install MC seperately?
  14. just install Windows XP MCE. With RunOnceEx you have to install MS .NET Framwork 1.1 SP1, the UpdateRollup2 (extract the installer to get all seperate hotfixes and install them silently with "/passive /norestart"), Update KB912024 and the Juli Update RollUp. now you have a mce up to date
  15. copy both cds in a directory and open the txtseup.sif. search for the following items: [SourceDisksNames.x86] 1 = %cdname%,%cdtagfilei%,,\i386 2 = "%cd2name%","%cd2tagfilei%",,\cmpnents\tabletpc\i3 86 3 = "%cd2name%","%cd2tagfilei%",,\cmpnents\mediactr\i3 86 4 = "%cd2name%","%cd2tagfilei%",,\cmpnents\netfx\i 386 and change this to [SourceDisksNames.x86] 1 = %cdname%,%cdtagfilei%,,\i386 2 = "%cdname%","%cdtagfilei%",,\cmpnents\tabletpc\i386 3 = "%cdname%","%cdtagfilei%",,\cmpnents\mediactr\i386 4 = "%cdname%","%cdtagfilei%",,\cmpnents\netfx\i38 6 100 = %spcdname%,%spcdtagfilei%,,\i386,1 now you can use nlite to remove compenets (BUT DON'T REMOVE THE .NET FRAMEWORK!!!), add updates and create a ISO. Enjoy!
  16. @IcemanTw is your problem solved? I compared the txtsetup.sif of my DVD with your one and I don't find any differences which will couse this failure. Can you post your original txtsetup.sif, too?
  17. Here is the string of my german MCE 2005: EULAID:MCE05_RM.0_PRO_OEM_DE
  18. Build 5492 is availible to TAP-testers and will be the last availible Build before RC1. And the RC1 will be availible to all people who want to test it, not even to the people who activated Beta2. http://blogs.technet.com/windowsvista/arch.../10/445959.aspx
  19. I also have this problem, when using MicrosoftUpdate. I figured out, that this happens if you have a lot of msi-files in the folder %Windir%\Installer. MSUpdate opens several files in this folder to check something, but I don't have any idea what the updater checks in this folder.
