install your OS + SP + programs you often use and activate Windows. Now make an image of your HDD. Later you can peform a rollback of this image to recreate your HDD.
don't slipstream, because you have to do this with every new published update, because you are not able to install updates any more. Just install all update silently after installing Office 2003 with integratet SP2.
hmm, MS renewed a lot of icons in Vista, so there is no need to do this. In XP, there ar many Icons and Bitmaps from NT4/2000, but this has changed in Vista.
I also had this problem. The uninstaller crashes and wants to send a report. Go to your modified netfx.msi and rightcklick on the file and select "Uninstall". This workes for me.
install the updates silent without integrating them into the CD, because you are not able to use OfficeUpdate anymore. If you want to update your Office you have to build a new CD with all new pacthes integrated and update your office with this CD. This is circumstantially way of updating office
