More than one Operating system (Windows7/Vista) on one DVD
Kelsenellenelvian replied to atolica's topic in Multi-Boot CD/DVDs
OK here is another method I am trying out: I exported the boot.wim files from a 64 to a 32 wim file. WHY? In my all in one disk I made for windows 7 the problem I have is that the WRONG recovery files were installed when I installed 64bit versions. Thus causing errors when I tried to use them. Theory? When windows loads with ALL 4 pe files in the boot.wim it will auto-choose the right one. Please tell me If I am wrong and save me some time. -
PROBLEM in USB MULTIBOOT 10
Kelsenellenelvian replied to (=EZEKIEL=)'s topic in Install Windows from USB
Can we just get a banhammer on dwayne and lizz? It REALLY seems like they are tag-team spamming now. -
ummm did you try regedit and the edit--->find function??? Also: Enable the (Hidden) Administrator Account on Windows 7 or Vista Many people familiar with prior versions of Windows are curious what happened to the built-in Administrator account that was always created by default. Does this account still exist, and how can you access it? The account is created in Windows 7 or Vista, but since it’s not enabled you can’t use it. If you are troubleshooting something that needs to run as administrator, you can enable it with a simple command. Note: You really shouldn’t use this account for anything other than troubleshooting. In fact, you probably shouldn’t use it at all. Enable Built-in Administrator Account First you’ll need to open a command prompt in administrator mode by right-clicking and choosing “Run as administrator” (or use the Ctrl+Shift+Enter shortcut from the search box) Now type the following command: net user administrator /active:yes

But you ARE mis-leading the common user that this HAS to be disabled... For the common joe user that encounters malware that could have been prevented by a system protected file. Or the "Once in a blue moon" corrupted file\folder that wrp would AUTOMATICALLY restore. (Thus preventing total syetem failure) Or the sad mistake of using a program or patch that f's up your system because it was designed wrong or not meant for your architecture. The list goes on... Yes wrp MAY be midly annoying to SOME power users. MOST people would want to keep it enabled or just temporarily bypass it. I never said you should apologize I just think you are mistaken\misleading. When hardrives are going for SUPER cheap (I mean pennies a gig) why is all this facination with space? (If my math is right I just found a 1tb drive for 20cents a gig...) Furthermore:
-
So you are saying that in essence something that protects us from malware and user incompetance is something we WANT to disable???
-
You were answered in your other thread and said you have solved it....

Not really yet. Your biggest gain in gaming in my opinion is the cpu and gpu...

AMount of RAM is the main consideration here. under 4 gigs? Use 32 bit Over 4 gigs? use 64bit...

nLite newbie - creating up-to-date XP Pro SP3 setup disc
Kelsenellenelvian replied to falcon8's topic in nLite
Exactly what I am saying PLUS! nLite changes MANY files even when you are only adding addons and drivers... I understand that nLite saves a CHITLOAD of time BUT, think of all of the extra knowledge you gain (And the experience making you a more valuable employee) if you learn how to do this yourself. -
nLite newbie - creating up-to-date XP Pro SP3 setup disc
Kelsenellenelvian replied to falcon8's topic in nLite
You are making a profit using nLite THAT is what falls under the term "Commercial usage" EVERYTING that nLite does can be duplicated with other means that are free and ok to use in commercial areas. My suggestion? I see you are familiar with the ryanvm update packs. There is an integrator that goes with them! (OK to use in buisness setting) Also you can use runonceex There are 2 basic types of windows XP disks you need to concern yourself with. Retail and OEM. NOBODY really says you cannot make and use the same disk for OEM systems the concern here is that you are using nLite and that you may be distrubuting these disks with the system or repair job. (Which is DEFINATLY illegal) -
how can i create unattended windows xp that shows eulat in textmode
Kelsenellenelvian replied to sanjeev18's topic in nLite
I am sorry but I have a hard time getting you. Your title mentions unattended and you are using a unattended answer file. Yet you say you don't want it unattended. Why is it so important to show the eula? -
OH no chit? And I thought that they had gone fully legit...
-
Be glad that hirens has gone legal... Anyways that will not fit properly on a dvd. You will HAVE to use a large USB key or 3-4 dvd's (Each one specialized to diff. archtypes of windows installation media. Do me a favor? IF you find out how to add ubcd4win to a disk let me know. I have my XP-n-one (THAT I MADE!!) and I would LOVE to add ubcd4win to it.

Advaced Registry Tweaks v. 1.0
Kelsenellenelvian replied to sanjeev18's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Your "Regtweak" contains serials and is considered warez!!! Remove it before a mod bans you... -
You need to delete th eold partitions first and make sure there is unallocated space.
-
Like was suggested install it afetr windows installs. OR Go over to ryanvm's and get onepieces update pack. It has this in it.
-
It is the way MS built that hotfix... Blame them.

Changing desktop pic in Windows 7 Starter
Kelsenellenelvian replied to ExTruckie's topic in Wallpapers & Icons
Try this: Step by Step: 1. Open regedit (aka registry editor; you can access it from the star menu by typing “regedit” in the search box…) 2. Go to “HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\” folder and click on it 3. On the right hand side find there are a bunch of entries. Find the key named “wallpaper” and double click on it and put the path of the picture you want as your new wallpaper (example path is “C:\Users\Bob\Pictures\new_wallpaper.jpg”) 4. Right-click on the “Desktop” folder in regedit that you found in step 2 and click Permissions. 5. Click “Advanced” 6. Go to “Owner” tab, highlight your name in the box that says ‘Change owner to’ ( There are only two choices the other is Administrator )… once your user name is highlighted click “OK” 7. Click on “Advanced” again 8. Uncheck the button that reads “Include inheritable permissions from the object’s parent”… click “Remove” when prompted 9. Click “Add” 10. Type “Everyone” and click “OK” 11. Check Allow “Read Control” and click “OK” 12. Click “OK” again 13. Highlight “Everyone” and check to Allow “Read” and click “OK” 14. Restart Computer and enjoy new Wallpaper -

shell32.dll Problem
Kelsenellenelvian replied to Pijush007's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
This is a well known error when your shell32.dll surpases a limitation of @ 20 megs in size. I would carefully go over your file and remove all resources that are too big to save space. Remember 128x128 and larger icons are compleltly useless in xp without other hacks to enable them.
