I have a feature request: I want to make a sfx installer that contians BOTH x86 and x64 installers contained in it. HOWEVER I want it to be switchless so I am requesting an architecture detection feature. i.e. "if x64 runprogram=blah.64.exe /s" "if x32 runprogram=blah.32.exe /s"

As long as you are using it for your own home machine it is fine but not when you make ANY knid of profit off of the installation. i.e. making a "Personal" disk for someone else. or using the installation in a buisness. or using the installation in a kiosk. You say you were sued by ms? Nuhi (The maker of nLite) has the ability to do the same... (Probably wouldn't, but who am I to say) As for your issue you need to look into sysprepping the machine.

You are only partially correct. Yes you can get all of the sp's and hotfixes for free from MS. No you cannot download Windows from any but a valid MS distributer... The ONLY one I know of that would still have XP home is a msdnna account and that is FAR more than a new disk. When you Download those pre-updated disk they usually include several illegal features: #1 Serial #2 Crack for WGA #3 Malware or other precraked, regged software. I am very sorry but in a nut shell it does boil down to this: YES You are s.o.l. now that your disk is scratched. On the upside IF you manage to buy the same version of XP home and get a valid serial for it you will have 2 licenses. However there are 2 basic versions of Home you need to concern yourself with OEM and retail. (They use different key algorithms) if you bought it in a store in a pretty green box then it is retail XP Home. If it came with your PC then it is OEM XP home. When you try to download a OS illegally you run the risk of alot of things: Getting caught, Trojans, viruses, PC getting hijacked. All sorts of nefarious problems. hmmm I dunno... You shouldn't be experincing the usb issue ever on that laptop :S Have you modified your source? As for the brightness indicator I have 3 dell lappys and non of them show it after a fresh install. I think it is an oem feature that dell doesn't provide extra dl's for.

with the autio driver issue there is a fix that was needed for some systems first kb8111** (Can;t remember exactly what it was) BUT sp3 has it included. According to the dell site it is fully xp compatable so I think your os source is suspect here.

Put the following at the top, (Modify the values of course), and it will resize that cmd window to what ever small size you want. Then it is less noticable. Edit: "mode con: cols=14 lines=1" is the smallest you can go on win7 mode con: cols=100 lines=10

I found the issue on my end: When installing office 2007 I had other installations in the same cmd sequence (cmd1, cmd2, cmd3) and so on. When it went to get the next one in line it would error out. I solved it by breaking chit up. Now I install only office 2007 ultimate and its updates (in the updates folder) on 1 command and then other stuff on a totally new entry

winrar has a 40 day free trial and the archive would not be limited...

Ok coupla things: #1 nLite was used NOT vLite #2 yes you may have added sata drivers BUT there are ALOT of different sata drivers. You therefore need to remake yoru cd to include the sata drivers for those laptops. (You can find them at your vendors websites)

when making a winrar sfx go into the advaced options and find this section: So in steps: Right click on file select add to archive select create a sfx archive goto advanced tab click sfx options in the general tab put the name of the prog + ext goto advanced tab and click request administrative access then under modes tab click unpack to temprary file and hide all then the update tab click on overwrite all files click ok 2x and viola you have it wrapped. Try that.

@Xntryk1 = He is asking for unnatended purporses or for when a person needs to add a crapload of fonts at once. (Not so easily done when you right click and install several hundred fonts at once)

DO NOT manually create the config.js! Always use the config wizard.
