Ok then the xeon isn't 64bit compatable either right? Speed wise as long as you tolerate 64bit (I don't really like it much myself) then the Athlon will beat the hell outta the xeon. Remember 32bit (or x86) cannot properly use the ram above 3.15 - 3.5 gigs... Thanks for the compliment ALWAYS glad to see a happy user!

Hyperthreading is WAAY different than dual core m8. Yes XP will handle it fine but it will never see that setup as 4cpus. As for speed what is the actual clock speed of the Athlon 6000+? It also depends on the ram speed and amount in each machine. anyways I just googled the 6000+ and see the base closk speed is 3 gigs. While I personally think a dual cpu setup with hyper threading will beat a Dual-core cpu I honestly think you will get more bang outta the athlon.

Umm your archive seems to be corrupted. Plus you forgot a md5 and file size with your release post. (They are pretty much required)

Since nlite seems to be failing to do this simply browse to your folder after the processing stage and before the .iso stage and rename the file manually...

Yes you downloaded the wrong version. You HAVE to use the Vista SP1 version.

What is the make and model of your motherboard? What speed is the ram in the PC and what speed did you try to add?

JUST how long do you wait on the black screen? I have had a couple of pc's that didn't show the preload stuff at all and took like 5 minutes to startup and get to the blue txtsetup section.

I know some have legitimate access. (I had a msdn account myself) and to those I apologize. HOWEVER the 2 guys it this thread have admitted to downloading it from torrents or "Other means" Not the SP either but the FULL disk. Being lazy = not learning to slipstream\integrate for yourself and just grabbing the nearest version off the net. 95% or more of the time the torrent downloads include keys or other software. Also why not just wait 10 days really? Is your life going to end in 9 and you HAVE to try\use it by then? Point of note. MSDN and MS official XP SP3 CD's contain @10 completely useless files and Vista w\sp2 might have useless files too. You never know untill you get dirty and try it for yourself. Getting it off torrents seems like a very small thing but nearly every client out there you cannot disable the sharing ability so you are perpetuating the problems while downloading them. As it stands in the U.S. and several other countries unless you have the original disk and can show it on demand your archive copy is illegal. If he owns a vista license it's not warez no matter where he gets the actual installation media from. This has been argued OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN! I have downloaded it on several pc's now and they all are ok. Which link are you downloading from? http://www.wpiw.net/downloads/wpi_v7.5.0.rar is the official one. Are you using a download accelerator? If so please disable it. Does the MD5 and filesize match? We will find an alternative i.e. email or something if you cannot get a solid download.
