  1. Petr has the patched file hosted on his site. It is a .zip so you need an unzipping tool to get it. the link is:http://www.winpack.org/petr/98/sysdm.zip. the_guy
  2. This is a problem with sysdm.cpl 4.10.2224. It fixes the negative value bug, but it also prevents the processor information from showing. Petr put up a modified version of this file a little while ago, not sure where, but I have a copy of it. I will post it if the original cannot be found. the_guy
  3. Thank you erpdude8. I was told that yesterday by microsoft. 1 more known issue: Setup will say that a couple of files couldn't copy. Please just click retry and it should work. This was on a Virtual PC, so it may not be so. the_guy
  4. Some updates still show up in WU after I put the registry information in WUINFO.inf or SPUPDATE.inf. Guys, should I include the 835732 files into the SP. I will probably take the files from 2000, unless the NT4 files are all newer than then ones included in ME. I would only put in files that are in the SESP. the_guy
  5. I have just uploaded the a3 version to RapidUpload. I hope it is fast. Don't worry, I will also upload the file to fileforum and maybe even another site that someone might know about. Needed hotfixes: 281921 (in process of getting, hope to get soon), 329128 (no longer available?) Known issues: Windows Update detection. Some Updates still want to show up on WU even after this SP is installed. Some include: 287564 (MM), 812709 (Help & Support), 290700 (System Restore), 329414 (MDAC, might be fixed), 329048 (zipped folders), 311311 (old uPNP update), 811630 (HTML Help), another full HTML Help update, and that's all I can remember at this point. Please post any others. The last option (unofficial updates) does not want to work. I hope to have this fixed ASAP. Changelog: -Added some updates since the release of a2 -Fixed setupx error -Fixed QFECHECK errors (both in qfe.inf and in spupdate.inf) -Added more registry entries for superseded updates that still pop up on WU (some are found, others aren't) The download link on RapidUpload is http://www10.rapidupload.com/d.php?file=dl&filepath=6358]here. the_guy
  6. support.microsoft.com/?id=892313 works for me. I will remove the MS04-018 update. If anyone wants these updates left on, please post and i'll put them back asap. the_guy
  7. New Updates for Win2000 SP4. KB905915 superseeds other IE Cumulative KB896688 Cumulative Internet Explorer 6.0 SP1 (also 1 for IE 5.01 SP4) KB890830 Removal Tool 1.11 http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx KB908523 Vulnerability in Windows Kernel Direct Download links for these updates from Windows Update are on P.110 post 1093. the_guy
  8. This pack applies almost any update that's out there for Windows ME. There are some that are not included. We will have to request those off of Microsoft individually to get them. This might be an answer to your question. It should give more stability to Windows ME. the_guy
  9. The models could be different. My mother's has a power plug that plugs into the same port as the usb. the_guy
  10. About Outlook Express, I don't know. I'll remove the 887797 as that didn't show up for me at all under a fresh install. 823353 does, so i'll leave that in. 1 thing, I don't know if HFSLIP integrates that. Personally, I would just integrate 832353 instead as it has newer binaries. There is also an update to replace 885492. It is 892313. I don't know if HFSLIP does that 1 either. the_guy
  11. I have that bug in setupx.dll fixed. There is just 1 problem at this time. Some updates pop up on Windows Update after they install with this SP. I should have it released by the end of the day. I need to upload it. The Windows Update thing I have no idea about, so please bear with me. the_guy
  12. My mother got one of these for christmas, so i might be able to help. Sometimes, you have to configure it 2 or 3 times. Also, charge it by plugging it into the wall for about 3 hours and see if that charges it. Stupid question, but did you put the battery in? the_guy
  13. Hey guys, I have some quick questions about CAT files, hoping someone would know the answers to. 1) If you are looking at the original source of a Windows CD, how can you tell what file is protected by what CAT file? 2) How can you tell the name and version of a file listed by a loong string of letters/numbers in the CAT file? 3) How do you modify a CAT to merge maybe two updates together or fully slipstream files without the need for extra CAT files? I think this might be useful for maybe making an unofficial package invovling updating 2000/XP with the 2003 SP1 version of Windows Script 5.6 (build 8827 instead of build 8825) or Windows Media Player 9 from XP SP2 on 2000 (build 3250 instead of build 2980). the_guy
  14. No idea about the graphics issue. Does your computer have an inboard graphics card? If not, try finding the software for it. The shortcut icon is because of the MS02-014 update. Look at MDGx's site for some fixes. the_guy

    HALT fix for Win2k?

I put it on my laptop as a test, and no blue screens yet. It froze a time or 2, but I'll account that to being a 233 with 128mb ram and a 40gb hard drive (upgraded, was a 5). the_guy
  16. Merry Christmas to all Happy New Year the_guy

    HALT fix for Win2k?

Just made this. It might work, but I need someone to test it to make sure. I have an old laptop with 2K on it that I can test this on in a little bit. the_guy HALT.INF

    HALT fix for Win2k?

Actually, you only need to do one of the 2. Use the /pmtimer switch OR make the registry change. the_guy
  19. That update IS installed by the SP, HOWEVER, the SP does NOT include the registry entries that Windows Update looks for. That is the reason. You could have that update install BEFORE the SP, so you don't get nagged by Windows Update. On another note, I noticed that 891711 is on your list. The SP includes this update. It might save you some time on your installation. the_guy
  20. There must've been a problem at microsoft last nite. I couldn't get anything. The link for the download now works. the_guy
  21. I've compared the rollup and the 893066 binaries. 893066v2 is NOT included in the Update Rollup, at least not v2. That is why it's still on my list. the_guy
  22. XP 32-bit is the only 1 that requires WGA. There is also a version for XP/2003 x64, 2003 IA64, and 2003 32-bit 2003 32-bit download: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en the_guy
  23. I think I'll reduce the size of the copyfiles line if that is the problems. I hope this will be fixed in the next version. the_guy
  24. Sorry. I will update that file in the next version. Please test this version out as much as possible. the_guy
  25. Hey guys. I have updated metapad.exe to 3.51. I have also added U891711. It is uploaded to filefactory.com. I will not update the ASPI layer until enough people want it. I have also added numerous updates. They are: 260710 268356 268452 277784 278368 289635 300889 301540 304082 304708 307908 309081 311430 321635 and some other updates that mdgx has posted. I have also added some other files that people have suggested. I was asked to add rpclt4.dll version 4.71.3336.0. Does ME include a newer version? I have removed the 2000 color scheme. The download link is here. This version is alpha 2. the_guy
