Thanks Petr. Added! Note about file version: The last digit is the beta version. I plan on upgrading to 2.0.3 for RC's and 2.1.0 for the final (whenever that is). Runtimes for VS.NET 2002/2003/2005 are also removed. I plan on making an executable for runtimes if no one else beats me to it. This should save hard drive space. the_guy EDIT: It appears that the SP2.CAB has messed up date stamps. I will try with makecab.exe 1.0.601.0 to see if that fixes it.

Ok. I'll move it over to a 98SE machine to make the package. What version of the iexpress utilities should i use? Also, in your last post, where in the SED file does that go? the_guy

98 FE + 98 SE + ME updates + patches + (hot)fixes
the_guy replied to MDGx's topic in Pinned Topics regarding 9x/ME
As I made those updates, I will send MDGx some redone updates in the next few days. Also @ MDGx: Could you please upload the fixes I sent you a little while ago? the_guy -
I think I will be removing the runtimes from the next version. Maybe someone could make a file with just the runtimes (I will be keeping the ones from before this version). About atl modules, I have no idea. I just know that they were like that (atl.dll was anyway). I have no idea why the fp*.* files are not copying over. they should be. About date/time stamps, I see from 17/08/1999 to 06/07/2006 (needs to be changed, will be in the next release). Other than the 1, they all look fine. the_guy

I can't find msvci70.dll that version. I can only find it in version 7.00.9466.0 EDIT: @ Petr, I can't find any errors on my end. If you are using 7-zip to extract the files, then that changes the date of files. the_guy

Good idea erpdude8. Done! @Petr: what files have the wrong date/time stamp? Also, flash and shockwave have been removed from the next version. Also, can anyone report errors in QFECHECK (errors that shouldn't be there)? the_guy

oops, sorry. There was a whole crapload of confusion between whether beta 4 was released or if it was just beta 3. Consider this just a re-release of beta 4 then. the_guy

98 FE + 98 SE + ME updates + patches + (hot)fixes
the_guy replied to MDGx's topic in Pinned Topics regarding 9x/ME
I just found out that it does NOT work. I could make an installer for .net 2 with the update integrated, which would work on 98/SE/ME, as well as 2000/xp/2003. It might work, it might not as well though. the_guy -
Ok. I couldn't reproduce it. the_guy EDIT: The band-aid fix for the *.hp.* files only works on .sys files. Maybe redo it so it goes *.hp.*
-
MS06-035 on 2003 sp1 (GDR version only) looks like it has an issue. It has srv.sys, but it also has srv.hp.sys. This might be a problem. Maybe update the latest test release to work around this? the_guy

98 FE + 98 SE + ME updates + patches + (hot)fixes
the_guy replied to MDGx's topic in Pinned Topics regarding 9x/ME
I'm sure MS06-033 can be installed on 9x/ME, but only if .net Framework 2.0 is installed. Other than that, that's it. Little update to those who use IE6 SP1: I'm going to be making unofficial updates starting with the August updates. Maybe even for DirectX/WMP, but that depends if there are any. the_guy -

Hey guys, I hope you guys are good at figuring out stuff in Vista, because I have a doozie of a problem. My computer is a dual-boot, with XP Pro SP2 on 1 partition and Vista build 5384 on the other partition. On the Vista partition, I have Office 2007 beta 2 and Windows Live Messenger Installed. When I click a link in Outlook, or try to view my unread e-mail messages in Windows Live Messenger, Internet Explorer freezes up right away. The catch is, whenever I try to open up Internet Explorer normally afterwards, it freezes up right away as well. The only way to fix this is to reset Internet Explorer, re-enable all of the add-ons, and it works until I do what is outlined earlier. The only workaround that I found was to run Internet Explorer without add-ons. It will work in this mode no problem. Does anyone know what's wrong? the_guy

It's just the validation software as 892130 (required for WU/MU), and 905474 as Notifications (optional, can be hidded on WU/MU). the_guy

A quick google for msvcp50.dll shows a download link for that version. Mind you, it is at a DLL archive. I think it might also be part of VS 5 SP2 (can anyone find a download link?) the_guy
-
@Gape, Is there any way to include an updated version of msvcp50.dll. 98SE includes version 5.0.0.7022, but I have seen a version 5.0.0.7051 on the internet. If you can't find a link, let me know and i'll send you one. the_guy

Hey nitro, Universal Extractor I think has replaced 7-zip on my end. It does more than 7-zip could ever do (extracting-wise, that is). I have 1 problem. Whenever I try to extract the type-2 hotfixes (the 913433 hotfix for example), I get an error about invalid switches. It detects the installer correctly, but it says the switches are incorrect. Is there a way you can fix this for 1.3/1.2.2? the_guy
-
First off, the 891711 and 918547 update files need to be fixed. You also need to fix your info for 908519. 905915 uses 2003 file versions. Use the list for 2000 sp4 and xp sp1 with ie6 sp1. the_guy
-
Not at the moment. I should be able to get back to you by the end of the day (or tomorrow at the latest). the_guy

@Tomcat I think HFSLIP will have to be updated so that it copies the RTMQFE files for 2000 with IE6 SP1. I did an HFNetChk scan and it told me that dxtmsft.dll version 6.3.2800.1548 was less than what was expected (6.3.2800.1549). I didn't save it to a txt file before I updated the computer with the RTMQFE versions (following the method in 897225). the_guy
