  1. I even allowed all connection, yet I still can't transfer. Whenever I tried to, I get this blocked: 22:17:33 svchost.exe IN REFUSED UDP 64.59.144.18 DNS DNS cache used instead I allowed UDP to DNS port in svchost.exe and still nothing. That IP is my DNS
  2. if I am using WMP on both computers, how can I stream from the TV tunner into the WMP, and then connect to the WMP computer that has the tunner through my WMP? (sorry if this dosen't make sence, I will try to re-sentence if it's not understandable)
  3. I don't need any remote control, since I have my family to change the program, etc for me. I just need a stream program
  4. I am looking for a software that would allow me to see in live somebody else desktop. The reason is that I want to watch the TV Tunner programs from my home country on that computer, since in this country the television just sucks. There would be a latency problem since the distance is over 8000 KM so any program that would reduce this problem would be even better. Any idea of any such program with or without pay? (preferable without)
  5. I just stoped burning when the DivX encoding process is running, and I will not burn over the written speed on the disc, in this case, 8x. Working fine until now. Yet I don't know how can I activate the under-running buffer protection for make data, that I keep seeing when i'm copying 2 CDs/DVD's.
  6. I have allowed all the necessary ports. I have even allowed all ports to the client. Yet I cannot recive or send any files as an error is occuring. Sometimes it did worked when I allowed all ports, sometimes not even then. What gives? The ports I configured are 5050 Out, 80 Out, 443 Out, 5101 Inbound and Outbound. No UDP What could be the problem
  7. Because as I said, after the buffer will reach 0, it will recharge back at 100% but the completion percentage freeze and the DVD-Writer LED is no longer on
  8. For anyone interested
  9. I don't think it can be CPU, I have it only at 60% when burning. I don't know how the HDD is manifesting in such condition. Thank you for informing me that this is a buffer underrun, I can start looking on google for more tips. Can nero actualy help in such conditions? Are there any options?
  10. I use the above 2 mentioned to burn DVD's. This night, I wanted to burn a couple but 3 out of 4 has faild. This night I also had run the DivX Converter, converting me different files. I tried to burn a 8x DVD at the 12X speed (I made the speed simulation and it ended up to 15.8X, but 12X is the option I have available), but it allways stoped at 70% - something. What is happening is, the buffer (or catch) bar (the one above the complete percentage) is droping from 100% to 0% (86%, 73%, 56%, etc). Once it hits it, it reloads again at 100% but the "buffer level" percentage is stucked and the LED from the DVD drive is no longer on, but the sound of reading is still present. I waited once more than half an hour and nothing changes After 3 faild attemps, I droped the speed to 8X. The first DVD was made OK, so I thought that because the DVD is a 8X speed wrriten on it, and because I am encoding, this speed is safe, but a second DVD faild again at 96% because of the same reason. My question is, am I doing something rong? Why is this happening? I check the "finalize disk" and that's pretty much it. I couldn't find a way to tick the "simulation" since it's grayed out.
  11. Ususaly half a year, but this last instalation is over a year and keeps going. Don't go on pr0n sites FTW!
  12. Cheers. And the last question I have about this is: Is it normal that a newly formated drive (the hole 120GB HDD since it only has 1 partition that I formated) have about 67 mb used space out of the total? I have un-checked all the settings for the folder options including revealing the operating system files and all the files on the drive does not totalitate 1 mb.
  13. Oh right on. I have tried to right click on the drive and hit format but there was an error preventing me to format. Today I created a folder so I can try some commands in dos and now the right click and format worked. Never done this before (since i remember that on my old computer both HDD's have been formated with Windows XP CD) formating a HDD in windows. Is the "allocation unit size - 4096 bytes" correct? Some lower values where available
  14. There has been over a year since I installed windows or formated a drive with it. Now I got a new hard drive, but I can't seem to manage to format it without installing windows files as well. The single way I manage to format it is to tell the setup I want to install a copy of Windows on it that way having the format option. But I don't want any windows files being copied on the drive. Even if it just formats and it copies the files, and then I cancel when the windows instalation window comes up, the next time I restart or power up the computer it recognise it as having 2 windows system and it's trying to finish the windows installation. How exactly did you just format a disk without installing the windows system from the windows XP cd? The disk is already NTFS format so formating it from DOS is not an option
  15. All of the sudden the DivX Converter is no longer encoding the movies at the designated bitrate. Until now i set it to default home theather profile, meaning 1300kbps, but all of a sudden, 1-2 weeks after it's last update, it started making movies at 4756 or 3953. Now I uninstalled it and re-installed it, no longer made the auto-update, but still it's not making the bitrate I set, instead of 1300 it's now doing 1285. What's rong with it?
  16. I want to format a second harddrive which will be slave. But the only option to format I saw was to install windows. By chosing this option only then it will start formating the hard drive and it would only do it in NTFS. But the problem is that if I chose this option immidiatly after formating, he will start copying files on it and after rebot automaticaly trying to install another copy of Windows. Worse, is that I can't even make the PC to boot from my normal windows as he will only want to start from the un-finished windows instalation. All other options i saw was delete partition or create partition. But no plane format for the HDD. How can I format my hard drive in such conditions?
  17. Thank you for all the explanations. Really appriciated. I found a way to preserve as much quality. If anyone is interested: Mpeg-2 Highest res, Highest qual, 8000 bit rate. After that encoding with DivX (couldn't find Xvid to try it also) 1300 bit rate. In my opinion the quality is very acceptable giving the circumastances
  18. Kinda puzzeled, does that means that when recording, because you have to convert to mpeg, and whatever more it's doing, the quality of the recorded file will be less than the live streaming through the same TV Tunner card? So because of this, the recording will allways be less quality than the actual live stream I am watching? As other options I have: Video Input Format - UYVY, YUY2, RGB24. As a side note, when recording on Mpeg format, I can only have 25 frames, while when recording to .avi or mpeg 4 I get 29.97 frames (I have the option to change it but no matter what I select the output will still be the same). Same for the audio. It's allways 44100 Hertz, even if I select let's say 48000 Hertz. It's this software problem? Practicaly I can't have a Mpeg4 (outputs as .avi) format or Avi because the sound will remain behind the image.
  19. I find out that skype was the one overwriting the sound
  20. Hello, I bought a TV Tuner, TV-PVR V-Stream. The little problem I have is no matter what settings I use, I don't get the exact same quality that the TV Tuner is giving when I record. The recording is allways a bit lower quality than the live picture. I have MPEG 1 2 4, AVI, VCD (PAL, NTSC), DVD (PAL, NTSC), SVCD (PAL, NTSC). I set the highest resolution for these, Up to 4000 Bitrate (Kbps) and even 8400 (Can't see the difference between these 2 values), set the quality to Highest. Yet, the quality is still lower than the live streaming. Is there any secret I could use so I can get the same max quality I get when I am watching it on live?
  21. Hello. My windows seems it won't keep in mind the settings I give it for recording. I select line in but at restart it will switch back to microphone. I have a TV Tuner for which I need Line in to record the audio but as windows is automaticaly switch back to micropohne after restart/shutdown I risk to forget to set the line in when I start recording from my TV tuner and have no sound. Is there any way I can make windows keep in mind my options
  22. Because I am a little confused I would like to recap what do I have to do after from Mpeg-2 I encode it into a .divx file. That divx file will be used with these 2 programs: virtualdubmod along with avisynth. What exactly is the virtualdubmod is doing to the .divx? As for the avisynth is the one that fakes the file as a .avi. After doing all these, would the quality that resulted as a .divx after encoding the mpeg-2 be higher than the result of using these 2 programs on the .divx file? As for the .mp4, I am not sure if I got it right, but I can chose from my TV tuner that the format would be .mp4 for the recording. At the end tho, it goes out as an .avi file wich has 29.97 frames (even if I select 25). This is making the sound to remain behind the image. I now have also a new question that is of high interess for me. If I set the Divx encoding to a higher resolution and/or video bitrate than the orignal file, what would happen? I can see that the new .divx file will be larger than the original but can it actualy increase the 2? I mean if the original has a total ammount, how can you increase it I am thinking? Will the bitrate and/or resolution just stay the same while the file will end up larger?
