  1. I'm guessing it's the Custom=1 which does it? What does that switch do?
  2. Yeesh, 9.0.3.1100 is out already
  3. Umm, yeah.
  4. I've found that what caused it to reboot on me was the installation order of my programs. When I made it the first thing to install, it didn't reboot. When I had it in the middle of the list, it rebooted. So, if you guys haven't already tried that, do it
  5. Why did you raise this nearly year old thread back from the dead for that little gem of insight?
  6. I've personally found that making JRE5 the first thing to install keeps it from rebooting. When I had it in the middle of a bunch of programs, it rebooted.
  7. Why would you think you have to generate them yourself? Use the ones the come with the hotfix. And if you're installing the hotfix with the EXE, it's not necessary to put the CAT file in svcpack.inf. The only reason it's needed is when you're replacing the file on the CD. Otherwise, the hotfix EXE will take care of installing the CAT file. And Windows stores the installed CAT files in this directory: C:\WINDOWS\system32\CatRoot\{F750E6C3-38EE-11D1-85E5-00C04FC295EE}
  8. I'll tell you what orrwell, you release something that's downloaded by over 1000 people, then deal with supporting all 1000+ of those people, and then you can get holier than thou with me about the decisions I make.
  9. So what are the odds that a simple .htaccess on my site is going to help fight hotlinkers?
  10. There is an edit button, you know
  11. Well, given that the post was made three months ago... Also, my site is up and running on my new host, so you can just download it from there. I'll be uploading shortly a new version which includes last week's security update as well.
  12. I can't blame you for obfuscating like that, IRT I'm going to be doing the same for my upcoming 1.2 update pack release for a batch file I wrote by compiling it to an EXE. You have no idea how many questions people send me about why things work the way they do, and I frankly hate being asked.
  13. Now there's an understatement...
  14. Let me know if all the Creative apps work properly as well. I could have sworn there's issues with it showing up in Device Manager like that, but I can't remember what they were.
  15. IIRC, "Creative Audigy Audio Processor (WDM)" is not a good sign. I seem to remember that having it be recognized that way can cause compatibility issues. Have you guys tried any games with the drivers installed that way? Does EAX 3/4 work?
  16. I just wanted to publicly commend you Bashrat for your hard work. You've done a terrific job with the Mass Storage pack since taking it over from me. Keep up the excellent work
  17. I'm assuming he meant plugins for Acrobat, not the Acrobat browser plugin.
  18. lukar, don't you think you're reinventing the wheel a bit?
  19. Well, it kinda worked. On a fresh install, a fair number of the fixes actually didn't appear on Windows Update with only the files on the CD (no registry entries), but it wasn't perfect. Three hotfixes still showed on Windows Update in the Critical section as 0KB downloads (KB885250, KB885835, and KB885836), so apparently they do need registry entries to be properly seen. Overall, it's a pretty interesting find, but I'm going to stick with the tried and true method myself. EDIT: And no, the files are NOT in dllcache and are therefore NOT protected by Windows File Protection.
  20. , this guy reminds me of the American Idol rejects who talk about how the judges were obviously jealous of their talent and that's why they didn't make the show BTW, I'm making a CD with this just for kicks. I'll post some screenshots later EDIT #1 - Ugh, s***ty compression job on the individual files. Someone didn't use LZX:21. EDIT #2 - And who wants to take up a bet with me that these are the GDR versions of the files rather than the QFE versions? More later
  21. ...I'm staying out of this one EDIT: Screw it, I can't help myself
  22. well yeah, of course that would work But at that point, you aren't really doing what /integrate actually does. Instead, you're just doing the svcpack.inf hotfix running method as described in the unattended guide
  23. Did i forget to use the Search button before asking ? Not the one i was searching for but it answers my question: RyanVM how to SVCPACK update http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;824994
