  4. if you have 128mb system memory, xp will run on it no probs. maybe see if u can upgrade your laptop memory? goto crucial.com, thry can do a scan on ur system and tell you wat you can upgrade to, very useful tool, and safe.
  5. Try running the "set up a home or small office network wizard" located in my network places. Run it on both machine's see if this helps.
  6. Safety first eh? hehe For me to just get a SATA 2 Raid Controller, with 2 ports would cost me £70....and thats cheap...and that just supports RAID 0+1
  7. Ballistix memory does run warm, in mine and in other systems as i used to build PC's with that memory in. It's not unstable just warm. (not overcloked at all) Also, why dont you try running Memtest86 for a bit, then you will see any memory will get warm when heavily used.
  8. Generic RAM is cheap for a reason....enough said I belive
  9. I use Nero and Alcohol 120%
  10. Well, i suppose it could be one of a few things. It could be hotmail, where you pay for extra features, or they could charge for it due to so many people liking it, and people may pay for it? doubtful, but possible. Or they could just keep it all free.
  11. how strange...kept mine no problem...try logging in with MSN 7.5...do they appear then?

  17. Well, ill probably be looking at x2 80GB in RAID0, to make 160GB, then my current 200 as a store..
  18. thnks guys! got a final question regarding RAID, as im new to it so i gotta learn! What storage do you get? ive heard different thing. So, lets say i get x2 80GB and RAID0 them, do i get either: 80GB total Storage, or 160GB total Storage? Ive heard that u get just the size of one drive, but ive also heard this: Array Capacity: (Size of Smallest Drive * Number of Drives). which to me says, 80 x2 = 160? I know with RAID one i wud get just 80, as the drive is mirrored. just cant figure out RAID0 total storage.
  19. Welcome to MSFN!
  20. Nice AMD wallpaper mate!
  21. Thanks for that sweet post Jcarle! so, what im going to look at now is getting 2 80GB SATA's, whiel keeping my exisitng 200GB for storage etc. So, ill have to look at getting a PCI SATA controller to get more SATA ports
  22. 3 comps, 2 laptops (one is works) and well in the hundreds at work
  23. 22, havent we had this poll already
  24. Maybe larger capacity drives do loose performance, i dunno...but with the way apps are at the moment, and how they coudl be, especially in new PC games, you need about 3GB of space for each game! Also people who do movie editing..... People like that are going to go for larger capacity drives...so I can;t see the point to be honest. Also, RAID0 should make up for the lose of performace in larger drives if that is the case, no?
