alright which mother board is better? alright im looking into buying some new memory i know that Latency is a big deal the lower the better for speed. one memory is DDR2 675 (PC2 5400) but latancy timing is 4-4-4-12 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820145015 the other is DDR 400 (PC 3200) with latancy timing at 2-3-2-5 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227210 both sets are close in price. which would you say is faster? better deal?

Add this registry tweak to your reg tweak file and it will fix your problem for you. lol not quite. Yea i compaired both KB articles for these 2 updates. Yes KB912817 does have newer files than KB902400 but KB912817 only updates about 3/4ths of all the files updated in KB902400. So what im saying is that some of the files patched in the older KB902400 are not patched by the newer KB912817. This is why i was wondering if possible both updated are needed since if only KB912817 is used some of the files patched by KB902400 would remain unpatched. let me know if this makes sence

Alright this is my error message This procedure entry point InternetGetSecurityINfoByURLW could not be located in the dynmaic link library WININET.dll. This started happening when i had an error while installing IE7 beta 3. This error message pops up when i use messengers or firefox. After i click ok on it, it goes away and everything runs fine. how do i fix this?

Quick question people. Is KB902400 really replaced by KB912817? I have been told that but looking at microsoft kb aritcles i dont see that this is acctually true. thoughts anyone?

alright well the problem has fixed itself. right after i posted my topic my computer rebooted on its own and began to run chkdisk. it did its thing and booted back up and everything is perfect again. great old windows repaired itself this time :-P

i have only been able in install wmp10 hotfixes after install at first boot. they dont work well i call them from cmdlines.txt

@shark yea when i do an unattended install i use /Q /O /N /Z on all my fixes yet i still have all my fixes showing up in this folder though.

should $hf_mig$ folders be removed? i have heard some people say yes others say no. If a user does not plan on reinstalling, repair installing, or uninstalling any hotfixes or service packs can this folder be safely removed. I want to create a shortcut with a batch that appears on the desktop with a custom folder icon. I have been able to copy a premade shortcut from the CD to the desktop but the shortcut loses the custom folder icon in the process. any ideas people? wow i never thought about that i will disable it on my 9800 pro.

now i wonder if someone could help explain the advantanges of the more memory. it seems there are lower end cards with 256 memory which are still poorer performers than newer 128mb cards. is there a way to know when a older card with more memory may be better than a newer card with less? how exatly is video card memory used anyway? visuals are just loaded faster? please explain.

Yea acctualy newegg is the specs wrong it comes with 4 80mm fans and the fan in the window panal is 120mm. so there is a 120mm fan in this case (if you look at the pictures you can clearly tell the window fan is much larger than the other case fans). Also i do have to say i am not expecting much from the power supply. If it came without i would get it without. i will likely buy a differntly supply or use a supply i already have. thanks for the input.
