  1. well im about to make a new computer and im going to buy a new pc case. Now the idea is that i will buy a case that i will stick with for prob 10+ years or so. I just want to get something that is nice and will be used for upgrades year after year so i dont really mind paying a little extra for it since i kinda consider it an "investment" anway im looking at this tower. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...-144-089&DEPA=0 does anyone own it? it has lots and lots of fans so just wondering how ppl feel about teh noise level. I really like this cases appearnce and size. from looking at reviews online i found the case door is cheap plastic but im willing to overlook that. any comments by those who own this?

  6. alright do this... make a registry file with this in it. This will disable those popups but leave file protection eneabled (so you cannot delete important system files) Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 ;Prevents Windows File Protection from Reporting Errors at Startup After Multiple Unattended Hotfix Installs (WFP is still enabled only warning prompts are disabled) [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon] "SFCDisable"=dword:00000004 PS the only way this imports properly is if you use this as this to your winnt.sif [GuiRunOnce] "REGEDIT /S %systemdrive%\Post-Installs\WFP_Fix.reg"
  7. Ok here is something very odd. I just baught a new samsung 120gig harddrive to use along with my 120 western digital drive. Now i wanted to install windows on the samsung (master) and have my western drive be the slave with music and such on it. well if both drives are cable select they would not be detected if the samsung was the master and western the slave but if it was the other way around it ran perfectly... So right now i have it setup so the samsung is (master only, no slave) pin setting and the western is cable select. this is the only method i could get to work so the samsung is detected as master and western is slave. well so after i turn off my PC and then turn it back it it does not detect my slave western drive. However after my system boots up and i restart it, it detects the western drive just fine. This can be consistaly repeated... why would this be? im searching for an explanation more than anything i guess... Title Edited - Please follow new posting rules from now on. --Zxian

I am doing this with a batch file... the command works perfectly from Run in the start menu but when i use it in my batch file i get the following.. Microsoft Windows XP (version... yaya...) Copyright 1985-2001... yaya c:\documents and settings\(my folder location)... and i have to type exit into the prompt before it carries out the command... How can i just have it unregister the dll without doing anything else. EDIT: just forgot to add cmd @
  18. Im seriously considering this case http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...-144-089&DEPA=0 kinda pricy at $154 but im planning on using it forever on my custom systems. It seems large enough to keep upgradeing the goodies i put in it. Does anyone have this system and what are you putting in it if you do. How do you like it?
  19. yea im only going to buy from newegg cuz i have baught stuff from them forever and they do GREAT biz. also i only want to buy memory of what i feel is a good brand... Crutial, OCZ, Geil, kingston or corsiar. i coudl go 1gig strips but i dont think ill every upgrade to 4gig of ram (lots of newer boards support this) buy the time i ever did that i would buy a new motherboard. Ill prob end up buying 4x512 over time which is 2 gig and plently to last several years. im going to start out with a gig at the momen though. keep the ideas coming

  21. The FAQ may say that the changes are for 2000 but the download link for the fix for windows sp1/sp2 link to a version 2 of the hotfix. also there is a size difference between version 1 and this new releaced version for sp2
  22. There is an updated version of WMP10 Windows Media Player 10 (Update) Date Published: 11/28/2005 Language: English Download Size: 12456 KB http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&DisplayLang=en plz ignore my post this is outdated info. Nothing new here look away :-P
  23. I think it has already been posted that this cannot be done...
  24. @m1m1m1m101 make sure your switches are corrected you currently have /quie /norestart /nobackup for a large portion of your fixes. it should be /quiet (you forgot the t) personally i think your switches so acctualy be /Q /O /N /Z instead. its shorter and very effective. I love how you have added direct links for the downloads. /Q (Uses quiet mode. Shows no user interface.) /O (Overwrites OEM files without prompting.) /N (Does not back up files for removing updates.) /Z (Does not restart the computer after the installation is completed.) Also perhaps you should add these to Optional Fixes KB909520 - Description of the software update for Base Smart Card Cryptographic Service Provider KB Article - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/909520 KB909993 - Windows Media Connect 2.0 KB Article - http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?...kb;en-us;909993 (maybe add this too since it shows up on update?) KB829019 - Microsoft .NET Framework Version 2.0 Redistributable Package (x86) And maybe even add to the list since it is a required download? Even if we all hate it :-P KB892130 - Windows Genuine Advantage Tool Have the most complete list on the web Love what you have done with helping to update the hotfix page!!!
