Hey is it a good idea to disable the disk performance monitor in xp? i found this command diskperf -n and am wondering if anyone else finds that this frees up resources. Is there any side effects if this tweak performance monitors are disabled? Also is this just another form of the NtfsDisableLastAccessUpdate registry tweak or is it something total different. thanks all

do you guys know of a list that compare the benchmarks of older cards like the 9800 pro up with newer x1650pro cards. Tom's hardware had some charts but not ones that compare the older cards all the way up to the newer cards that are agp format. no he does play some video games but he plays games 2-3 years old so he is alright with an older system to play the games on. He is only interested in agp since he does not want to upgrade the entire system.

My dad needs a new video card. it must be agp and and inexpensive as possible. His ati 9800 pro card has died on him. I looked around online and am having a hard time finding comparable cards for not to much. I dont think he wants to spend over 100.

is there such tuners that allow you to watch stations from around the world? i though you could only get the stations from whree you plugged your cord in from. if there is a method to watch the TV of other countries im in!

I dont have ASPI installed. I heard that it has to do with communication between drivers... Should i install it what does this do?

alright for some reason i get "dumprep 0 -k" that appears in my system startup. I uncheck the box and it stops appearing with for a short while but then if i have the pc shut down or something it will just appear again for no reason. I am not getting any errors which is the odd thing. why is this happening? I am running xp with sp2 all updates and nothing overclocked.

would a 500watt antec supply power a system with 2-4 hard drives (possibly raid), 2 optical drives, 2 7600gt sli, plus motherboard ect... what type of power supply are people running now days with what systems?

I always thought amd was the way to go with a game system but i have been hearing intel is now taking the upper hand. is this still true. Those of you with amd will you switch to intel on your new systems? thoughts people i plan to build a new one soon.

Basically wondering what extra stuff do you add to your unattended cd. For example i add 57 - Wallpapers 7 - Fonts (some of the new ones included in Vista) 2 - Screensavers all are added through $$ folder structure. any other customs others add? PS i not really talking about UA software installs like antivirus and Nero and Spybot ect. more non-software related things (though a screensaver i guess is software but you get the idea)
