i like the window....not the purple tho...i might do some mods once i get a new comp

under the configure tabb in ZA pro just click "Check For Update" and it should tell you there is a new version....

ive never seen that problem before....was it just the crical updates that it said were already installed or was it more than just those?

this is up for anyone who knows....how do you setup what accounts are used with the ProFTPD server...i found the list of users but i cant log in with the passwords that i know go with the account....

i got it to boot up...now i just have to configure the users...i tried to login with the same name/pass i did before but it wont let me.... o btw...i couldnt get them to work so i reloaded the servers...now time to go config

thanks for the help...im new to the linux scene and i heard mandrake was easy to use so i figured ide give it a try....it comes with PROftpd 1.2.2 enabled by default...i got that working and went to edit the config file and change the port used to login and it stopped working...i reset everything back to default and still no luck...i might disable it and try installing the one you were talkin about if i cant fix this....thanks for the help....

ok...i know that a bunch of you guys are running your own servers and i just loaded mandrake linux 8.1 and i dont know how to set up an ftp server...i was just wondering if sumone could lead me in the right direction....thanks in advance

put in ur windows xp cd and restart and boot from the cd....if it does not boot from the cd automaticly check the settings in your bios and change it so that it does (there is a boot sequence option and CD should be first)....then it should come up with the screen asking you if you would like to enter setup.... hope this helps

ne1 have an idea as to reactivation bc im using a corp or vlk...and i cant log in at all.... *the funny thing is that i had it installed b4 for about 2 months and it didnt do this...then i reinstall both my OS' and it does this after about 2 weeks....

ive been using xp for a while now...and all of a sudden i get a message when i try to log in saying "Somthing not allowing windows to properly read liscense for this computer" or sumthin like that...ne ideas...has this happened to anyone else?

thanks for the tip...system restore was eating up a lot of space that could have been put to somthing "useful"...plus my IE Cache was set to 300mb....good thing i have a big hard drive

if you type "ping /?" it will give you a list of commands... you could always type "ping xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx -l **** -t" replace xxx with the ip address and *** with the packet size you want to use...this will ping them untill it stops you or untill you stop it.

you can call the knology people and they can find out who it is...then they can call the person up or shut them off...u should be able to get a tech support # off their site....

ok sorry...got busy and forgot to respond...got netbeui installed but still no luck...if anyone has anymore ideas i'de be glad to try....thanks

right click on your cdrom drive icon in my computer and click properties then the AutoPlay tab....there is a drop down menu of the cd types and then a selection of the things it can do...so u can select audio cd/select an action to perform/take no action hope this helps

i had that goin on mine for a while too...then i made my screen res. higher and chose not to hide the start menu how'd you get the specs on the desktop?

i think the "Previous Operating System on C:" is just it referring back to 98......

NetBeui installed but still no luck....any other ideas?

thats exactly what im doin...just got a reply to the NetBeui thread and i just installed netbeui...ill post again once i reboot to let everyone know if it worked

thanks...i was tryin to install it from some .inf files in the inf directory but i kept getting some error when i clicked on netbeui saying like unexpected driver style or somthing....thanks for the help...hope it works
