what are the biggest differences between XP pro and XP adv server? sorry bout not posing which OS....

is there any way to install NetBEUI under windows XP?

i have login password protected...but when i log in the only option is "on resume, display welcome screen" they have them password protected at compUSA so there has to be a way....maybe if i log in as admin....

is there anyway to put password protection on your screensavers without the use of a third party program or did M$ disable it.... thanks

ok the power problem is solved...thanks for the help guys but before i get the welcome/logon screen this disk check comes up sayin that "one of your drives integrity needs to be checked" any ideas about this...it even does it after a proper shutdown...is there anyway to disable it...u used to be able to disable scan disk on a bad shut down but i dont see that option in MSCONFIG thanks

when i go to shut down Xp the **** thing reboots...their was a thing on windows update about somthin like that but it didnt work...i read somthing about it around here but i cant find it here either... and right before the logon screen comes up i get the disk checker ....usually when it tries to reboot instead of shut down and i turn it off

ok...been messin around and still cant get it to work the hardware setup is as follows 2 NICs and a cable modem plugged into the hub everything works fine and i can still access the network from ME but when im in xp i cant see the other comp and the other comp cant see me...i tried messin with the settings.... under 98/me i have tcp for the inet access with dns and wins disabled and its setup to recieve the ip address automaticly from cox's dchp server...but since the ip hasnt changed since we have gotten it im about to just type in their ip and see what it does there...(instead of obtaining automatily)... i would appriciate anyones suggestions.....thanx

is there a program to check if the iso of office xp is authentic the way u can with win xp.... thanks

each machine has an ip address assigned by cox at home...so the internet part of it works...but we used the net beui so that the comps could talk to each other...so is there another protocal i can use or somthing bc i cant assign the machines an ip myself if i still want my @home access *the network worked fine when both comps had 98se setup with a cox assigned ip and netbeui set up *when i switch over to ME on this comp (dual boot) the network is operational...but when i boot into xp i can still get online but i can see that the other comp is there

1 3com 10/100 nic in each comp a cable modem and an a-open AOW-608 Soho 8port switch

yeah... just install xp on 1 and win2k on the other...same setup as my comp but its xp/me and its about to be just xp.... -aKaFrEE

ok i need some help networking a 98 comp and an xp comp...we have cox@home so the workgroup and comp names are set up right....before we just used netbeui and tcp/ip and everything worked fine...but now i cant get the 2 compters to talk since ive upgraded 1 of em to xp....and i cant figure out a way to install netbeui on xp.... any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.... -aKaFrEE
