  1. I dont think folder permission are an issue when attempting to join a domain.
  2. I know this is more of a 'Customize XP' kind of topic, but i figured that there is no better way to finish off your Unattended XP CD, than with a spiffy CD Cover to match. Just download this picture, add your cdkey to the yellow space, and print! Feel free to download and change this image as you see fit. I just ask that you post your covers, so i can see what i have inspired! Note: To download, click on the thumbnail to see a larger picture, then download that one I know it looks big, but the dimentions are right for A4 paper.
  3. Check the computer names not usernames. The computer names must be consistant. Your server must allow access to the computer name of your clients.
  4. Your server needs to have the computer names of the client on it. That means that when a computer attempts to connect, if the server has the name of that computer in its little love list, then it will grant access of the domain to that computer. I cant remember off the top of my head where you go to change which computers you're allowing to access the server, but im sure if you poke around in the adminstrator tools, you'll find it. If by any chance, the computer is already in the list, delete it, re-add it, then try to reconnect.
  5. Hooray! Thanks for the info!
  6. It could very well be a virus. I suggest you get your anti virus to scan the file, see what it says. Dont give it access to anything

  9. DOS for Dummies is a book you might consider having a look at.
  10. In XP, If your sharing the internet over a LAN, your server pc (the one with the direct access to the net) needs to have the ip 192.168.0.1 and your clients need to get their IPs automatically. Any other configuration will not share the internet. Try doing that to your 2k machines.
