When someone asks you a question and you are too lazy to answer it or they don't get what you are trying to explain, what do you say? I don't say search for it on the internet. I say google it. Could you imagine saying yahoo it? Hells no, because google is more than just a search engine, it has become a word. Just wait, a dictionary will soon say: Google - (pronounciation in those funky letters) verb To tell someone to search on the internet with a desire for knowledge. ]Bonkers[

This is definately not the best way, but what I do is just create the shortcuts that I want/need and add then to my UA CD. During the installation of windows in my cleanup.cmd file I just copy over the shortcuts to the places I want them like I would a single file like notepad.exe or something. I use the xcopy command. ]Bonkers[

Extremely slow unattended install
fillalph replied to dboone's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
While this may not be a "solution" but rather a work around, you could just not copy over the $oem$ folder. I use nLite to slipstream my drivers and then when doing my runonceex I just point to the files on my dvd. This will also decrease the amount of time needed for install because it doesn't have to copy over the install files and then delete then after they have been used during cleanup. EDIT: Before this UADVD (I guess it was a CD), did you have the same winnt.sif file? ]Bonkers[ -
I don't use the program, but I did download it. It looks to me like an Inno installation. From the Guide written and hosted on msfn, the switch would be: msgr7us.exe /VERYSILENT /SP- Try that out and let us know if it works or not ]Bonkers[

What software do people put on their Disc's?
fillalph replied to skitty's topic in Application Installs
A good place to see what other people are putting on their discs could be seen in the software section. Although the thread may not have the exact same intent, there are many threads where people list their must have software or great freeware programs. ]Bonkers[ -
I use O&O, but I noticed in Task Manager the process: oodag.exe taking up ~4mb of ram and I don't have any background scanning scheduled or anything. I only want to use it manually. Does perfect disk also have something run in the background? I hardly ever defrag (I just reformat ) so is there something lighter (in terms of process etc.) that does also a good job? ]Bonkers[

ID3-TagIT You will love this program. What I love the most about it is how it can get information from the FreeDB CD, either by filename size or manually searching. I love it. The only thing I wish it had were more support for different file types. But, if you want mp3 renaming, look no further!

The only problem with DVDShrink is that it hasn't been updated in about a year which means that it does encounter problems with some DVDs. Even though the website for anydvd says it is no more, doesn't mean the project is dead. The author of the program is looking for hosting: ]Bonkers[

MSN Messenger 7.5 unique user settings.
fillalph replied to BoardBabe's topic in Application Installs
Is this reg tweak passport specific? If so, can I just use the other ones? For example: Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger] "DisableTabs"=dword:00000001 "DisableMSNToday"=hex:01,00,00,00 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger] "DisableTabs"=dword:00000001 "DisableMSNToday"=hex:01,00,00,00 That is what I am going to try, but just curious if anyone has tried this. If not, I will let you all know when I actually test it in my UA DVD. ]Bonkers[ -

it_ybd: We are already doing this. We want to remove the tabs, but this option is not one that the mess.be patch offers. ]Bonkers[ -

fillalph replied to BoardBabe's topic in Application Installs
BoardBabe: Have you ever used the mess.be patch? Do you think that it would be possible to patch the msn.exe file and remove it that way. I don't like a lot of the features in msn (a bunch of the buttons for instance) so what I do is patch msnmsgr.exe and overwrite after an install. We might be able to remove tabs that way. ]Bonkers[ -
I use setup.exe /S ]Bonkers[

Just an idea: We know how to find the SID thanks to BoardBabe. Could we do the same for the passport number? Could we write a bat file to scan the registry really quickly and do a search for certain tag names that we know are unique and will only show up where those tweaks are found and then we have the address. ]Bonkers[ -

I have both a linksys WRT54G v1.1 and a D-link 524. I upgraded the firmware (official linksys) and it messed up the router. I am going to have to RMA it. I never had problems with disconnections though and up till now has been great. I had to setup the D-link and it is working like a charm. ]Bonkers[

I am just finishing this course at university where we had to build a robot. Last year one of the teams made a video that included some photos and video. Last Year's Video I was just curious if someone knew of a program that could help do that. Thanks ]Bonkers[

For what I understand, YZ Dock isn't being updated anymore and Aqua Dock is the continuation that of? Any comments on RKLauncher? What is your preference. Sure, these questions have a bias, but I want to hear it . ]Bonkers[

Anti-Virus to become obsolete.
fillalph replied to rhythmnsmoke's topic in Malware Prevention and Security
People that have Ph.D's haven't been told for years anything. They have researched it for years. Big difference. They are the ones that teach these optimal methods to us. People that are doing research are open minded people. They have to be, because they are researching something new. They probably have a hypothesis, but no hard information (until they finish the research at least). ]Bonkers[ -
